Hi all,

We are looking to try some new restaurants we have never been too and we are staying at Boardwalk Villas-how do you all like Big River Grille? I know the menu is limited and there is stuff we will enjoy but is it worth it?

Thank again and stay safe!

We enjoyed it on arrival day. I liked we could use opentable so no charge if our plane was delayed. I enjoyed my beer and my food ( and my families food) was good.

this is good to know-we are actually looking into for it the evening off boo bash like for a 5 ish dinner before heading over! Thank you!

Its a nice casual restaurant.
Nothing fancy, but the food was good. Liked it as we could get right in without needing an ADR as we weren't sure about our arrival time.
The microbrews were good.

I think the general consensus is the food and beer are solid/good but not outstanding. Weather permitting, a table out on the Boardwalk can be a delight. Probably not a destination restaurant but a solid option if you're in the area and, as noted above, the availability on OpenTable without the cancellation penalty is nice.

We went there a few years ago and enjoyed it... It’s nothing mind blowing but the food and beer were good. We had burgers and chicken sandwiches that were pretty standard fare, but tasty. With limited options on the Boardwalk, it’s a good choice as long as you’re not expecting it to be a top tier restaurant. I’d go back!

Mediocre. We lunched in April because it was unseasonably cold and the view spectacular. Alas, the food was airport bar and grill fare.

We stay at BWV frequently, since it’s our home DVC resort. We sometimes do takeout, usually the chicken Caesar salad. We ask for both Caesar and Ranch dressings on the side (DW prefers Ranch) and find that it’s plenty of food for a light dinner on a day where we might have done an ADR breakfast or lunch at one of the character meal places. I imagine the salads would be equally good if eating in rather than doing carryout.

We were there on 6/3 for lunch. I also made the ADR on Open Table as they had better times available. We arrived at 12:15 for a 12:30 reservation. We were seated immediately and our server introduced herself 2 minutes later. She took our drink order and gave us a few minutes to scan the menu since you have to look at it on line and it takes a few minutes to fully load. DH ordered the Blackened Creole Salmon. This dish is his favorite and they changed it up by taking away the BBQ sauce but he was pleased with it. I ordered the Bacon Cheddar Burger and it was fantastic. It was served with Kettle Chips. Service was excellent. We are so happy that they opened.

Big River Grille is my DW favorite restaurant onsite. She talks about the beer cheese soup for months after we leave lol

We ate there for the first time last week and really enjoyed it. I had the mac & chicken and thought it was delicious!

Our server, Mark, was also great; friendly, attentive (but not overly) and prompt with our food & drinks.

We are there in may. Very much enjoyed it. Our server was excellent as was the food. A small wine selection but it was fine for us and not expensive.

It's ok. Every time I say we aren't going back we go back because it's easy to get to from the boardwalk hotels. I will not sit inside again though. It's way too loud.

It's been a few years but it was mediocre -the beer wasn't bad, food pretty unimpressive. If you're looking for a Craft Brewery like most of us have locally now -this is about as far from that as you could imagine.

What is the parking situation like with COVID? Is there a way to prove that you have an open table reservation?

We have had a few meals here - salads/burgers. No complaints. Whatever we had was good/better than good. No issues with service. We would have a quick lunch/dinner here again.

The beer is good. The food is fine. I love sitting outside there. My wife usually gets a salad and I usually get a sandwich and we just split both.

I had a reservation on MDE and security gate required that I log in to verify …but Open Table would be easy to take a screen shot .
I went last week and the tables on the brewery side were blocked off due to recent water issues from rain … So I don’t know if the Brewery is functioning It seemed kinda dark so probably not… The table across ordered the ribs and desserts and cleaned their plates! I ordered the club sandwich but served more like a grilled cheese with ham sandwich. it was good . The person I was with ordered their steak and said it was good. I don’t think I will go again…
