This is the first trip that I have used the online ADR system. And my first time planning a Grand Gathering size family trip!
One meal I know we all want to do is Coral Reef. Obviously, we can't make a reservation for a party of 14. :) So I split us in half, 7 and 7.
But now my reservations page says I have conflicting reservations and should cancel one.
Will Disney cancel one automatically? Or do i need to get another member of my family to make the reservation for their half?

If you have a party over nine (I think it's nine, maybe eight), you are directed to call on the phone not make them on the website. So not answering your question, but I would call on the phone.

I have been able make reservations for 14 both over the phone and online (but only for certain restaurants online). I would try calling to see if they will make a reservation for your whole party. If not and you need to break up, make the 2nd reservation in the name of someone else in your party. Just make sure that you list different phone numbers for each reservation.

The CM I spoke with when planning some ADRs for my large group in April told me that the computer starts scanning the system for conflicting reservations about 30 to 45 days before your trip and will automatically cancel a reservation so you don't have 2 at one time. I have no idea if this is true or not but it is what I was told.

I would definitely call. It seems each place has their own limit.

I thought they upped the on-line limit to 14? Maybe it's 12?

Anyway, we have a party of 15 and I called to make my ADR for a Crystal Palace lunch, I did it all on the automated voice prompts at the regular dining line. It never switched me over and told me I had to contact group dining, etc....

I was able to make it without any problem and didn't have to split it up into different numbers (although I know you can do that if you have to).

I would make the secnd ressie to someone's else name jus to be on the safe side but also keep in mind that both parties might not be seated together.
