Has anyone ever forgotten to turn off the date on thier camera? I am just now getting my film developed from my last trip. And guess what I forgot to turn the date off on my SLR. Great shots, but the date is across my son. Is there a way to fix this or do I just chalk this up to a lesson learned?

Can't help you -
but I sorry this happened to you - that stinks.
I hope someone can help you out -
can you touch them up the the zig photo pens?

I can SO relate. I did this on a recent trip to Hawaii. I didn't notice until about halfway through the trip that the date thingee was on. I found that if it's on a light background, it's not so bad, but on the dark background the orange date sticks out like a sore thumb. To add insult to injury, the date wasn't even right. On a few of the dark pictures, I touched up the date with a dark pen. It wasn't great, but better than that date showing. I was able to crop it off in some cases. But basically, it's live and learn. I'll be a lot more careful next time.

If you have a scanner at home, why don't you scan the pictures, touch them up and have reprints made? My husband does that all the time for me. If a picture is too dark, he lightens it; if there's red eye, he removes it; if there's a blemish, he magically makes it go away.

Just a thought!

Happy weekend!

I can also relate.

I didn't realize that whenever I change the battery in my 35 mm camera, the date stamp is activated. Worse yet it reverts back to new years 1996. The first time I took at least one roll of film before I knew about it. Now, every time I change the battery I forget for a few shots. Fortunately my date stamp is very close to the bottom.

Sorry to say, unless you can crop it out or touch it up in some way, that date is there to stay.

Try the scanner idea. It works! I just made a scrapbook for my MIL of our WDW family reunion trip. She had the date stamp on, and I just used my software to get the date out of the shot.

I will try the scanner. What software do you use bskts4bj& Nik's Mom? I will buy one since I have 15 rolls of film.

Funny I leave my date on all the time. It doesn't bother me at all. It really isn't that bright. The only time it has been a problem is when someone else takes a picture and turns the camera different than I do. Then it seems to be at the top left instead of bottom right if that makes sense.
I did have an older camera that it was really bright and i would turn it off.

It has a lot of features, like adding borders to pictures, touch ups, etc. I know there are tons of other software available. Have fun picking!

I received an envelope of photos today from my mother. I am glad she left the date on otherwise I wouldn't knwo when the photos were taken :).

The main problem I was having was that the date was across my son's face in a great shot. I fixed it with microsoft picture it! :bounce:

So glad to hear that you solved your problem! That's what we are here for!:D
