when making my adrs I accidentally entered 1 more person than we have. I got an adr for 6pm. I went back and entered correct # and no openings. will we be ok when we get there? can I say 1 person didn't show.
You'll be fine. Not sure of the base size vs input size, but the system has a known issue with odd number parties (has since before online ADRs came out). I know that I often make ADRs for 2 instead of 1 and get considerably different (and often better) times.
The only times this will matter will be for those prepaid events (CRT, etc) since they are charged when you make the reservation. However, you likely would have known if that were the case .
When you arrive and they say "Party of #", just let them know the real number. In the rare case they DO ask, just blame the computer, trust me, they'll believe it!
I wouldn't lie about it, nor would I worry about changing it. Just leave it as is. If they say, "Party of 6.." when you arrive - then say, "actually, it's 5.." and there shouldn't be an issue.
I've had to do this because it is often easier to get reservations for even numbers opposed to odds. I just tell the CM at check-in the correct number and there hasn't been any problems. They haven't asked what happened and never seemed unhappy about it.
