Anyone else have bother with these spiders lately?

We came home last night, a little worse for wear :rolleyes1 to be greeted by the biggest spider I have ever seen in the house. Boy could it run, having finally gotten rid of it, went up to bed and there was another one in the bathroom :scared1:

Yep, we had one in the kitchen last week. It was HUGE! I took a photo on my mobile to show people as I couldn't believe how big it was

My DD is scared stiff of them she was staying at my DM last week and when she went to the bathroom there was a huge one on the towel rail my mom heard her screaming and went up to see what was the matter there was Bex screaming her head off and standing in the bath!!! Stupid child :rotfl:

There was a huge spider in our lounge last week. They are getting bigger - invasion of the mutant spiders!
I am sure DH plants them, so he gets lots of praise and attention for getting rid of them for me!

If you find one in the bath, it may be a close of giving them a funeral at sea before they die if you catch my drift... ;)

What is going on with the insects at the moment!!!! i too had a huge spider in my bedroomlast sunday nite i was absolutely shattered had been to the beach for the weekend and was sooo tired just went to settle down and there it was on the ceiling peering down at me!!!
I have high ceilings so even trying to balance on my sons small trampoline i couldn't reach it with my shoe so had to resort to throwing a heavy trainer at the ceiling hoping that it wouldn't drop on the floor and run away finally got it after 6 attempts.
Also at work on monday there was a huge grasshopper in the cleaning cupboard had to wait for the manager to get that one, then that nite 5 daddy longlegs 1 moth and 1 spider in the bathroom.
what is going on!!!!!i have been shutting the windows early now

I've noticed a couple of flies today as well :confused3 DH keeps informing me that spiders are more scared of us, that is the reason they run away.

I read something years ago which said the spiders were coming indoors looking for a mate at this time of the year. Usually creatures breed in the spring ready for the warmer weather so I don't know how true it is. All I know is from late August onwards to end of September I am on the look out for these horrible huge spiders.

One year I ended up with one on my head, you could feel it crawling, didn't realise what it was (just as well) till I had brushed it off my head. Another time, my eldest son fell out of bed with such a clatter, he had turned over on his pillow to be face to face with one, he couldn't get out of the bed fast enough.

Luckily the hubbie isn't bothered about them so he gets them, if he is out I have to resort to the Dyson with its suction tube fully extended to deal with them! :rotfl:

Yes!!!! Is it just a coincidence. We had the biggest spider I've seen in the house just a few days ago! It was at least 6cm in diameter. UGH. I called everyone in the family to come see it (I didn't actually telephone people, just called them through to the hall). It creeped me out.

Dont vacuum the spiders it doesnt kill them !!! I tried it once and the horrible thing crawled out of the hoover later and nearly scared me to death!!

We have had loads this yea,r they keeping making giant webs at our front door
YUk. We have to run the gaunlet every morning. DH keeps moving them but they keep coming back.

they are here in hinckley too :sad2: they wait till dh leaves for his night shift b4 putting in an appearance :confused3

I'm sure I slept with one eye open last night. If they stick to the bathrooms I will be fine :)
