So, now that Billy Hill and the Hillbillies are no longer :confused3 what is in here? Is it still open? Is it still used for another show? Are the characters still around?

When we were there in May it was the Spring Jamboree or something like that. Decorated for spring and had meet and greets with Rabbit, Roger Rabbit, br'er Bear and Minnie in a spring dress. Pluto was running around in rabbit ears. I think they offered crafts due in certain times. It was fun and not the least bit crowded. Not sure if they are doing something similar with a Summer theme now?

Nope, no Jamboree this summer :-(

It looks like we will be waiting till the fall for the "Carnival". I really do wish they brought out some Long Lost Friends in that space.

So is the spot empty? Is it still open? This was my daughters favorite spot last year to run, dance, and meet characters! So sad if this is true!!!

The petting zoo area is open, Woody and Jessie are still doing meet and greets in front of the cabin, but the Jamboree has been closed. This past weekend it was open during the 4th of July for the Marine Corp Band... It is hard to say at this point if it will continue to stay open with character M&G like they have done in the past.

I like Nashville, but I'm blah about this. I don't really care to hear other people sing the songs, and only on the weekends?

This was one of our favorite places on our last few trips. I'm bummed the Jamboree is closed.

Is it just me, or does anybody else find it strange that Disney is adding stuff in the middle of the summer? First it's this Frozen stuff at DHS, and now it's this "Nashville" thing at DL. It's almost as if they are in a panic because the summer is somewhat lackluster (which I don't know to be true). I get them doing the Frozen thing to capitalize on this wave. But wouldn't you think they could have started it at the beginning of the season?

As far as this Nashville thing goes, I could care less. I don't watch that show, and (unfortunately) if I want to listen to real country music, I either have to use my iPod, or listen on Sirius. Because that garbage that is being called "country music" today is anything but country. Pass!

I wonder if this means it still remains closed during the week. Will the characters come back? And maybe most importantly to me right now, will it still be used for the Halloween Carnival and Holiday areas this Fall/Winter.

It's because it wasn't until mid-season 2014 that the financials came out that showed the parks and the studio had an amazing previous fiscal year. Up to that point, much planned for DLR (especially the 60th anniversary next year) had been put on hold due to the enormous financial strain of rolling out MagicBands/FP+ in Orlando. Now they're trying to recover and get some things rolling again. It may also be because the D/OSHA rehab work is finally mostly over.

That said, I wonder whether they would have gotten rid of Billy Hill if they knew then what they know now.

On the Halloween Time 2014 page it lists the same activities as last year at the Halloween Carnival in Big Thunder Ranch so hopefully everything will be back.
