Big changes to magic Kingdom ???

just read over on the dibb home page that there is plans to stop doing wishes fireworks at magic Kingdom and change it to something else instead.
I know its really silly to say but Im gutted - I love wishes!!
Also no longer running spectromagic which for me is nothing major but know some people love it !!

I read it somewhere different to the Dibb, but they did point out that it is only rumours at the moment and any changes will be temporary.
I guess only time will tell.

Hope this is true. After seeing Fireworks at Disneyland Ca. we have never bothered much with MK, always poor compared to theirs, much rather see Illuminations at Epcot when at WDW.
Also hope its true its the Magic, Music, Mayhem show replacing it, seen that twice and its very good.

Can't compare with DL but wishes at DLP was better than WDW so I like the sound of these changes.

I think they have just been going too many years but thats probably the amount of visits we have done and having Annual passes for 2 years, done the parades and wishes to death. I am totally fed up of seeing the spectro magic fish, we laugh about them everytime we see them, "here they are again"
I guess anyone that doesn't go as regular will enjoy them more but they have to make the parks fresh for regular visitors every now and then.

Oh...what's classed as 'summer'? We're there in May and I've been banging on for ages about Wishes to my Dad (who's not seen it!) and saying how lovely is it and how I want him to see it and now it might not be on?

And Spectro... It's my all time favourite! Please keep them there for May Disney, PLEASE!

The fish! I joke that there must be more than just one! My Spectro photos always seem to have plenty of The Fish! How many times can you possibly snap a shot of it and not realise you've already taken several photos of the same thing?!?!

Change is good. To resist it is human nature - intially - until it becomes the norm. Change is refreshing.

hhmmm, my first thought was NO!!! then I realised that when i have seen their other fireworks, like hallowishes, the Pirates and princess display (which was beyond awesome) i have thought they were better than Wishes. so while i love Wishes still, and regularly enjoy the soundtrack i know that their fireworks could be even better as i have seen them do it. When they use the full park perimeter with more effects on the castle it is spectacular and i would like to see more of that, so i am not going to knock something that in fact could be better if i give it a chance.
As for Spectro, and please dont lynch me, it feels tired and outdated now. i like that its different and doesnt just feature your everyday characters, the floats are impressive, but I'm not going to cry if i have something new to see. there have been rumours for a while that Spectro would move to paris or california, so it will be interesting if this does come to fruition.
I think I am all for change if they make the most of the opportunity to give us something better, which i know they are capable of if they choose to

Was my first reaction, as a huge part of our wedding plans is the Wishes dessert party!

But I know Disney will always make whatever they do magical, especially the MK fireworks.

Just been announced that this summer the Main Street Electrical Parade will be coming to the Magic Kingdom, only scheduled for the summer though, with a few improvements

Seems most of these introductions are starting from June, and for the 'summer'. although it seems dates are a little sketchy!

Music, Magic and Mayhem will replace Wishes (which was previously played at Pirates and Princesses Party nights)
Electrical Parade is back, Spectro goes! Very excited, as haven't seen Electrical Parade in 22yrs and that was CA

The finale is going to be tweaked on Illuminations
Tower of Terror is getting new drop sequences! (woooohoooo!)

I think this sounds like great news, I wish mk would get new parades they are so dated compared to the other parks. I think DLRP has much better parades.

The old main street parade is very cute, I remember liking the music!

Guess this is all to stay competitive with harry potter??

I wonder what they mean by 'summer'- until September perhaps?

I'm not too fussed about SpectroMagic but I will miss Wishes if it's not on when I'm there. Saying that, I'm sure I'd enjoy the replacement!

I remember seeing ELP in DLP back in 2002. I liked the music but I don't remember it being all that different to SpectroMagic.
