it comes with some figurines, etc. and is I think $50. It is at many of the stores i saw and i left thinking i could get it online and i can't find it...does anyone know how i could get this or even know what i am talking about. It's pretty big -- maybe 18 inches or so and it is grayish, just like the real one. it's always around the princess stuff in the stores. thanks!

I don't remember seeing it, but what is sold at WDW isn't sold anywhere else. You can call Disney merchandise though & order it. The # is 407-363-6200. On our last trip, I went back & forth about buying a big Mickey figurine. I ended up not & regretting it. I called that # last week & ordered it. The CM was great in helping me find what I wanted.

I wish we had gotten that castle set! I think we will get it on our next trip and have it shipped home to come from Santa. However, I think it's more like $80....

I know the castle set you are referring to if you're talking about the big one on display in Germany in Epcot. Target actually sells the smaller accessories (knights, horses, etc) but not the castle. About 2 years ago, they did sell one part of the castle, but not anymore.

DS10 always used to look at the castle & parts when we were in Germany in Epcot. We almost bought it back in 2006!!

I think the name of the maker is "Schleich".

laughingplace.com had one, but it is over $100.
It is called Cinderella's Castle Playset and is 24 inches tall.

we got one in January - bought it at the gift shop at ASMusic for around $60 I think and then shipped it home from there, think shipping was around $10 but I may be mistaken.
We're going in a week and a half, pm me if you'd like me to look into it for you.

As another poster had said, call Disney Merchandising, 407-363-6200, they can send it to you. It's Cinderella Castle, and it's around $60-70 though, not including shipping, which I think on that item is going to run you about $15 or so going through Disney (shipping ground).

The majority of merchandise sold at WDW is theme park exclusive, and therefore, will not be for sale online, at other stores, or at the Disney Store.

By the way, that castle is part of a whole setup -you can get the monorail and other pieces to go with it (though many are also no longer in production). I know some of the members here have the whole setup.

I just ordered that very Castle from WDW merchandising. I had to wait a bit as it goes into back order status failry often but it arrived yesterday and my little girl is going to be thrilled. She played endlessly with it in the CSR gift shop and kept seeing it everytime we went over to the Contemporary to eat.

I did ask about other pieces and the previous poster is correct; most are retired( shucks, I really wanted spaceship earth). Several monorail pieces are available still and the AK Tree is available as well right now(I ordered that too as it was really nice looking when we saw it at AKL and only $20). My combined shipping on both was only $20. They arrived in massive boxes which I've yet to open but I will in a day or so fel free to ask any questions.

Oh yes, so if you didn't do the math yet, that makes the castle, $60.

Just FYI...
LaughingPlace sells park merchandise. They buy it from the parks and then sell it online.
We have ordered from Disney Merchandising, but I like that I can see pictures of the theme park exclusive items online.

Oh, I know that, I used to run a highly successful ebay store selling WDW exclusive merchandise (Laughingplace is WAY too expensive, IMHO). I was just letting the OP know, because many people assume that Disney theme park merchandise is available at the Disney Store or at Disney shopping online.

We saw this at the toy store in DTD in Nov and DD insisted on getting it, but it was too big to bring on the plane:sad1: . My mom, who was with us, felt so bad for her that she called the store after we got home and had them ship it to her for Christmas:santa: . She loved it:love: . I think she did say that the shipping charge was pretty hefty though:scared: .

Sorry, I wasn't sure because you said it will not be sold online and it is (kind of) just not in the logical places we would all think to look like Disneyshopping.

I have also never purchased anything from LaughingPlace bacause the prices are high, but I do like to be able see the pictures of the item so I can better describe it to the very helpful Disney Merchandising cast members.

Now when we are shopping at WDW, if I am trying to decide if I really want something or not, DH tells me. "If you THINK you want it you better just buy it, cause you know you are going to want it when you get home." :thumbsup2 I have done this on more than one occasion and he is usually the one that has to call and talk to Disney Merchandising. And let me tell you they are very good! If I buy it while we are there we save the shipping cost! We usually drive down so getting it home is usually not too big of a problem... I can always hold it on my lap during the 16 hour drive home if I really want it. :scared1:

We bought ours in Dec. and had it shipped home. I think it was $70 and it was $15 to ship. It arrived in perfect condition and has LOTS of fun features--sounds, lights, etc., along with ALL of the princesses and their princes. It is WELL worth the cost (considering what some of the junk out there costs today) and is very nice. DD loves hers. It gets a thumbs up from us! :thumbsup2

last august and it was the last thing we bought Downtown before we left. DH ended up spending almost an hour repacking the van in the DTD parking lot so we could get it in there! :lmao:

Last year when we went to WDW we bought the castle for DD5.... it was $69 and $15 to have it shipped home. DH thought he was being smart by saving us the $15... he would just pack it in the vehicle... well, after lugging it from the store to the vehicle and spending at least 45 minutes he gruffly went back and paid the $15 to have it shipped! ;)

We had bought it for DD5 for Christmas... starting in November or so, we read here on the DIS that the castles were hard to get and back ordered past Christmas... DD5 was kind of bummed,,, we assured her that Santa can sometimes make things happen... she was THRILLED on Christmas Morning.

We still have the Castle set up in the Living room... it is that nice... she loves showing it off and setting up the characters in different "scenes". Definately worth the money!!!!

We did the same thing 2 years ago. We saw it at our resort, but thought we could just get it at home on-line. We never found it, and ended up getting one on one of our last trips.

Funny enough, my mom went to a garage sale not long after we bought ours and paid for shipping which came to around $70-80. She bought a brand new one with every little piece in perfect condition for $3!!!!!! Oh well, we have 2 dds, so it is nice to have an extra one.

the AK Tree is available as well right now(I ordered that too as it was really nice looking when we saw it at AKL and only $20).

I bought my DD the tree in Jan. The box was HUGE but I did manage to get the tree in my carryon without the box. It is really cool! Some of the animals come off the tree.:thumbsup2

Anyone have any pics?

We were just at WDW last year, but I don't recall it. Then again, my girls weren't as princess crazy then as they are now (dd#2 is the one who is *really* into the princesses)!
