I was watching a repeat showing of BBT last night and they were announcing that the show was moving to Thursday nights. It will be interesting to see how this affects the show, if it even matters now that many of us record the show and watch it at a different time.

That's great news! Now we can have Trashtastic TV Mondays without worrying about missing BBT! :thumbsup2

Did they say what time? I do watch most of my TV after the fact on my DVR but I watch 3 shows "live" and now they're all gonna be on Thursday! If it's before 9 I'm ok. Otherwise, eek!

Search the Community Board for Bicker's Fall TV thread - it has times for everything.

From Upfronts: CBS Moves ‘Big Bang Theory’ to Thursday (originally published on May 19, 2010):

In the boldest scheduling move of the upcoming season, CBS announced Wednesday that it will move its hit comedy “The Big Bang Theory” to Thursdays at 8 p.m. starting this fall.

In explaining the move of “Big Bang,” Nina Tassler, the CBS entertainment president, and Kelly Kahl, its scheduling chief, noted that it has become the No. 1 TV sitcom among young viewers this season.

Ms. Tassler joked that she thought the nerdy characters on “Big Bang” would enjoy being paired with “Bleep My Dad Says,” a new sitcom that stars William Shatner of “Star Trek” fame. “It’s probably a dream come true for them,” she said.

I was upset - Thursdays are the one day a week I can't watch things due to choir. Gonna have to look into getting a DVR now... Maybe this will convince DH!

There is too much put on Thursdays. I need another tuner in my dvr to handle the overload. With 3 other weekdays (excluding fri) why must they cram everything on Thursday? I only had the opportunity see Fringe a few time in HD last year as a result of all the stuff that runs on Thursdays. I had to resort to online streaming and itunes downloads.

The networks need to realize that DVRs have changed the way we watch TV. CBS is only hurting BBT by going up against the NBC commedies. You are targeting a similar audence.

I always look forward to to watching BBT and How I Met Your Mother on my DVR on Tuesdays so I'm kinda bummed but I don't think I record anything at 8 on Thursdays so hopefully there won't be any timing conflicts there. I love this show!

True, but the networks only care about money, and Thursday is the night they can charge the most money to advertisers, and BBT is hot right now and can also get more money from adverts, so the move makes perfect sense to CBS on the only level they care about - bottom line.

Wether it is a good idea long term remains to be seen, but from their perspective now it is a great way to get more money and pad viewership for their new fall comedies that will now follow BBT.

I just hope this doesn't hurt HIMYM on Monday's, which we like just as much as BBT.

BBT could be on at 6:00am and I'm still watching it.

It's become a big ole hit with the right demographic and CBS is going to try to make money with their hit show.

Thursday night is still "must watch" tv night.

I am with you, but there is just so much we like to watch and it all seems packed into the 8-10 PM slots on Thursday. In our house my shows, like Fringe, are the ones to get bumped to make room for the others.

CBS is spending so much money on 2 1/2 men that they should put in on THursday to pay for it. I liked the monday night line up of BBT and HIMYM along with NBC's Chuck. If 2.5 Men were canceled, I would never miss it.

Yargh, I need a DVR.

Once you get one you will realize you'll want another. I thought with a DVR I would watch less TV. Turns out I was completely wrong. I watch more TV in the same or less amount of time.

My only fear is the time on Thursdays as I hope it doesn't bump up against too much I already watch. My DVR can't only record two at one time.... well that is two HD at one time.. four regular.... now that I think about it I might be fine.

Love BBT...
Love Sheldon.

Amen. I can't believe how much TV I watch with DVR. I never watched that much TV, but with the DVR?!?! It's a little ridiculous actually. I work 2nd shift, so I really couldn't watch much...now I'm trying to catch up on shows before my DVR fills up.

I don't like this.... I had a routine. I always watched the Monday night block of comedy on CBS. oh well.... :( At least now my favorite shows won't all be over in one day early in the week lol
