Big and Tall Disney Clothing, where art thou?

Am I the only one who wonders why park stores don't offer more big and tall merchandise? Fat people like Disney too, and there are a lot of us. :p Seems like it would be a no-brainier to increase their offerings there. But good luck finding anything past XX in any store; I've seen triple x, but it's very rare and usually only on one or two items, and that's usually only in the World of Disney store.

I myself fluctuate between single x (when I've been really good) and triple xxx (when I've been not so good for a while), and I'm currently double x. But I have a long torso too, so I really need the Tall sizes, otherwise everyone gets a good glimpse of my gut whenever I raise my arms. :crazy2: I've never seen tall sizes anywhere in a Disney store.

So why not offer these? The marginal cost to produce can't be that much, and whatever the cost for the extra fabric, they could certainly pass that on to the consumer; I'd gladly pay it! Do they not think there would be sufficient demand? I find that hard to believe.

Maybe someone with inside knowledge knows what gives? Does anyone know a good place to get big/tall Disney merchandise?

Well, if you ever get out to Orlando, there are just-off-site giftshops (one called GiftLand) that tends to have some 3x and above stuff. not much, but more than found in the parks! And it's the EXACT same stuff found in smaller sizes at the parks and DTD; it's official stuff. Disney's making the clothing, they just aren't stocking their own stores with it. It's very sad.

Can't help you with finding it in Anaheim, though.

Also in Orlando DH has had better luck looking in the *hotel* shops. I think maybe he found something in 3x last month at the Grand Californian, but it wasn't his style so he didn't buy it.

I know on disneystore.com. they have customisable shirts that go up to 5x.

For women torrid.com has lots of Disney stuff in plus sizes.

I have had trouble finding women's 2x. Even when you do, a lot of times they are cut small.
There are so many Disney shirts I have liked but either didn't have in my size or they just didn't fit right.
I don't look good in t-shirts, so I prefer the shirts that are a dressier shirt

I was in the park the day the 60th merchandise was released. I saw shirts up to 5XL in stock. They usually sell out quickly and aren't in every store. It makes more sense to have all your extended sizes in 1-2 places rather than have 1-2 available in each store. I've also seen entire racks of women's plus size 1X to 3X over the years. I think if you just ask at the store or call merchandise services and ask which items come in the larger sizes they may know if they have any in stock. Where I think they could do better is with the print on demand items online, like the 24 hour shirt of the March madness tournament shirts. They're printing what's ordered, so why not offer more size options.

Its a very fair statement. Disneyland proper especially, caters to younger kids. Can usually find more adult sizes at Californin. Then again, can be Hot Topic. Expects everyone on a starvation diet and have 1 potato chip for dinner.

We find many of DH's tees on DisneyStore.com in 2XL. It's a trade off of convenience online vs. AP discount at the parks, but when the online store has a sale/coupon, it's a win win.

I also have trouble finding the larger sizes. Target currently has a nice Mickey Mouse shirt in big and tall sizes on line. I think they have up to 4xl or 5xl in big and in tall. I purchased one and its a nice shirt. I did make some modifications to make it look more flattering for a female frame, but I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for very big sizes. Current $11.24 on line.

It appears they carry the larger sizes in only one or two styles. I was able to get a 60th anniversary tee in a 5x at the shop at the end of Critter Country in July. I also found a 2015 shirt at the Star Traders shop in a 5x. I'm hoping that they'll start carrying more. I'd really like to find one of the Halloween shirts in the larger sizes!

I agree with you! Many of us who are "Pooh sized" would like to sport the same cute Disney merchandise without having to treck to an off-property location.

It's not just a 'pooh sized problem'. I normally wear between a size 10-12 dress/jean so I'm pretty 'average' sized, but at Disney (either coast) I wear, at best, a ladies' XL - XXL Tshirt, and even that isn't loose by any means. 95% of their ladies wear is cut based on 'junior sizes'. You can usually find a more realistic fit in their 'year' Tshirts (you know, 'WDW/DL 2015') or 'standard' Mickey T, but when it comes to anything cute or stylish, fuhgeddaboudit. BFF, who is pooh sized, is pretty much relegated to men's Ts or, if she's lucky, she'll find a 'year' T in her size. Men's Ts don't work for me, because they're too tight in the hip or too loose in the shoulder. It's a shame, it really is.

That being said, we've had our best luck finding larger sizes (men and women's) at the shop just past Winnie in Critter Country. It's kind of tucked away and I think most people have already bought their shirts by the time they get there.

I'm usually able to find a few 3xl shirts on each trip. In June I bought a 60th tee at WOD in a 3xl as well as a 60th jacket in a 3xl. There isn't a lot offered but there is some!

I usually make myself some Disney shirts before I go! I buy transfers on etsy, get a shirt I know will fit and then iron it on! Much cheaper than Disney!!!

I just made this for my trip this weekend!
