I was looking at Disney stuff today and my son saw pictures from Biergarten and the band...he loves music. He asked why we never went there and I explained to him that mommy and daddy went to Germany and experience it first hand. He then asked can you take me there...I asked him at Disney yes I want to see. For the people who have gone here with kids...did your kids love it and how was the food?

Biergarten is a really fun restaurant!!! The food is tasty and the entertainment is great. My kids really enjoyed it!!!:thumbsup2

We just went the first week of June, and we all had a good time. Honestly, the food was fine. Our kids are 8, 6 and 2, and everyone had plenty of things they liked. The pot roast was good, the pretzel rolls were also great. I loved the bratwursts with mustard. The music was a big bonus..although I wished they played a little longer. It seems like it's timed up so that you see one set during your dinner, and it lasts maybe 25 minutes. I could be wrong on the time, but it seems that's how I"m remembering it. It was fun when they invited everyone to toast, "Provst!" (sp?) They also had pork tenderloin, spaetzle and of course, other standard kid fare such as mac and cheese etc. We ended up there by default when we had to cancel our reservation for Boma, but I was glad to get to try another country in Epcot. Enjoy!

DD5, who is also a music lover and dancer, reports that Biergarten was her favorite experience of the trip, and we ate at both CRT and Akershus (and she's also obsessed with princesses). The band is so much fun to dance to, sing with, etc., and they really encourage the kids (and adults) to come on down to the dance floor. She met a bunch of other kids and they all danced together, which was just delightful to watch! Great memories made that night.

It's our family's favorite "fun" restaurant and our one absolute must-do! If your son loves music, I think he'll love the experience.

To answer about the food, DD5 is not at all picky, but she doesn't eat a large quantity of food as a rule. She did enjoy the food quite a bit, but a little was all she needed to be full. DS2, who eats like a college football player, put away several plates (not an exaggeration). DW and I love the food, although to be fair we greatly enjoy German food as a whole.

We have always loved Biergarten. The entertainment is great and the food is excellent!!

My DD (4) ranks it equal with CRT and Akershus (princess meals) as her favorite place to eat in all of WDW. That means it outranks all the other character meals she has been to (Tusker House, Chef Mickey, Crystal Palace; 1900 Park Fare), and she is a character fanatic. She loves watching the German Band and getting out and dancing on the dance floor while they are playing. The first time we ate there, I think she ate more at that meal than I have ever seen her eat at a meal in her life. She found lots of things she liked on the buffet, and she is normally a really picky eater. DH and I both like it there too. My good friend took his son there (2) and he loved it as much as my DD does.

Biergarten is one of the favorites of DD 8. DS 5 likes it too, although he isn't quite as crazy as his sister. we all leave stuffed. the kids LOVE the band and the dancing.

The Biertgarten is the one place we have to eat every trip. It is very hard to find good German food here in North Florida.

Thank you for sharing your family experience. That's good that the music lasted 25 mins. I think my son would be happy with that.

Thank you for sharing, I love the idea of my dancing (One of the reason he loves Hollywood and Vine b/c of the sing/dance part). He loves music and dancing. You make me laugh at your DS2 eating like a college football player b/c he eats free and gets the family worth. I wish my son could but I guess I should be happy he just eats...:rotfl:

Thank you for sharing, now my son is a little older DS(5), he wants to experience new things which is good besides the character meal. Don't get me wrong I love character meals but I'm glad he is the one wanting to try this place and glad to read good reviews with kids.

My wife and I visited this restraunt in 2008 and had the best time. She's a vegetatarian and they had quite a bit for her. The entertainment was great and not a big beer drinker but got caught up in the moment and had a huge beer...

This is disney dinning at it's best - they really had a huge amont of food for the kids. Having 5 we always find ourselves evaluating that first even when we're on an adult only trip.

Your son will love it!

We loved it and so did our 6 yr old..Be aware that it is seating community style and you are seated with other families at your table if you are smaller than a party of 8( I think).

This is a must do for my family. We love it! When my daughter was little, she was called up on stage to conduct the Oompa Band. She loved it!! Plenty of variety of food for everyone! And, if you like to drink beer, this is the place!:thumbsup2:drinking::drinking1

For our family it's a must do every trip. In 2004 our DS's were 5&6 and then again in 2006 when they were 7&8. My youngest is a little picker eater than my oldest DS. They both ate a lot, the oldest DS just ate a larger variety of food. They both really enjoyed the music.
