I am hoping to finally work up the nerve to have a meal at Biergarten this trip. If anyone is in Epcot Friday Nov 14 evening or Saturday Nov 15 afternoon, or Weds Nov 19 anytime, and is interested in meeting there- let me know.

I ate there solo a few years ago when I was in Orlando on a business trip. It was nice - I chatted with the group at my table and just enjoyed the atmosphere.

My DH and I actually have a reservation for lunch there on Saturday 11/15, at I think 12:15. Stop by and say hello! (I am impossible to miss - my hair is bright pink)

Thanks Becky! If I am on that side of the lake in that time frame- I will.

Just sharing that in April we ate there, four of us, a couple and two solo diners. We had a great meal with all of us talking and interacting. It seemed like they strategically grouped us together because we weren't just one big group with one solo. One solo was fairly quiet and the other was an older man who had been stationed in Germany, was fluent and so the server was joining in to the convo as well. Go for it! We stayed away for years because of the shared table but I have to say on most trips we have really conversed with and enjoyed our table mates.

Biergarten is a great place to eat solo because they group you with other people. When I ate tehre we had a solo diner join us and she had eaten there many times and knew all the best stuff. Most of the time you'll find a great group to chat with.

Please don't take this in a negative way, but my experience two years ago was a bit of a let down, though I still had fun.

I lived in both Austria and Germany, and have returned to both several times. I love German food and music. My family has never shown any interest in the Biergarten so I decided to go when I was doing a solo trip.

I was seated with two other families. One was from Latin America who only spoke Spanish and were clearly confused by everything. The other was from the mid-west and mostly just ate in silence, hardly speaking to each other let alone the single stranger at the table. When the server came over to take our drink orders, I was the only one who ordered a beer. When the music began both families just up and left.

That said, I had a great time enjoying all the different dishes I'd not had in a long time, singing along with the music, etc. The servers took care of me and I chatted with several in German (they were polite to ignore my lapses in grammar and pronunciation). I ate so much I didn't have anything else to eat until breakfast the next morning!

I would go back without hesitation. Hopefully, the next time I'll have better luck with my table mates.

Could you please let us know how it goes? I ate solo at another communal dining place, Teppen Edo, and had a very poor time because of rude table mates. I've been hesitant to try communal dining again, but I love eating at Biergarten. Hopefully you can encourage me! Maybe you'll get table mates like DH and myself. Shortly after my experience at Teppen Edo, DH and I ate at Biergarten where we had a solo at our table. I didn't want the solo diner to feel like I had, so we were very conscious of being nice to him, asking about his vacation, etc. (turns out he wash't solo on his trip, but the only German food fan). I'd like to think he left having had a good time.

You should be fine. You will be engrossed in your food and the show to ever notice much of your table mates.

I'll be in Epcot Friday evening. Have never eaten there but might be willing to try it!

I will be there the weekend of Nov 14-16 solo as well! I was considering eating there probably Saturday evening so let me know what you decide!

On Friday I am going to arrive at Epcot pretty late, so Saturday is better for me.
I am flexible on time- any time from 1pm on-

I actually just made a reservation for myself at 6pm for Friday and then considering the Christmas party if anyone is interested!
