Biergarten question

Hi everyone! I have a quick question about the buffet at Biergarten. Do they offer anything different for children or is it the same food as the adult buffet? I have looked everywhere I can think of and even asked a CM, but they didn't seem to know for sure. We would really love to try it, but are hesitant if there isn't anything for the kids.

Thanks so much for your help. :goodvibes:

They did have a small set up for kids. I don't know what was on it but there was a kids buffet. Maybe someone else with kids could tell you what was on it.

We had a great time. I hope you have a good time.

As far as I know, since I wasn't traveling with a kid last month when we ate there, there's no separate kids' menu or buffet. But there are choices that children might enjoy such as mac and cheese and a chicken schnitzel (I didn't care for it) thing, also milder sausages and meatballs would appeal to children. We really enjoyed our lunch there and will go back again when we have DGD with us next year.

Hello Terri.

Don't let my lack of posts fool you, I am a certified Disney Veteran, have had annual passes for many years and have stayed at all the major resorts and eaten at all the restaurants worth mentioning.

Biergarten is one of our favorites.

Not so much because of the food, but the overall experience. The wonderful thing about EPCOT, is that it educates us folks that don't go outside the U.S. much about other cultures. Biergarten does much to allow us to experience the "community" of Germany. It is a different world and, considering the varying tastes of the food, worthwhile.

That said, and I know doesn't answer your initial question, does however, segway me into my point. There are foods offered that the kids will most likely like but may not love. There are no "chicken fingers" and "fries" like most other ethnic buffets. But the "experience" of the Biergarten, makes up for it in my opinion. There is a plethora of variety offered and frankly speaking, German food is not my favorite. But, the atmosphere is great. You sit at a table with other guests whom you don't know. I am a complete introvert, I am not a "talker" when it comes to socializing. Yet, I find the environment at Germany enlightening.

My wife and I have dined with many different couples and groups and the highlight of each dinner (we've been there over a dozen times) was getting to know our servers and other families at the table. It really is an amazing thing. I'm an older Republican, not quite as bad as Tom Delay but surely no Al Franken. We sat once, next to a very young couple, just married whom obviously had different life experiences as we. Yet, they were the most charming of young people to enjoy dinner with. The experience was so much worth the hesitation that I would have eating dinner with two people so different than I. But that was what made it special.

Depending on the ages of your children, may determine whethor or not they will enjoy it. Because frankly speaking, the food is most definately of a German flair with lots of vinegar flavored spice. But the atmosphere and the wonderful show put on, makes Germany one of the best experiances at EPCOT.

I can't say your kids will love or even like it, but I think the dinner will be something they take with them for a long time as to me, it really enlightens us to the culture of Germany. My favorite country at EPCOT. You don't go necessarily for the food. You go for the warm, courtesy of the hosts, and the chance to enjoy a culture you may not be familiar with.

You'll love it.

We have dined at Biergarten a few times now, and my kids have loved the entertainment, but left hungry (granted they are quite picky eaters). The last time we were there we took them to the buffet, but they really had nothing for them (no kids table), so we ordered chicken strips. It took FOREVER to get them. In fact, we were ready to leave when they finally arrived. I don't believe we were charged for them, but they were charged for the kids buffet. All I can remember them liking somewhat was the desserts.
I, on the other hand, have always loved it there. The atmosphere and food are great. My suggestion, order the chicken (or mac and cheese) immediately so you aren't waiting forever with hungry children.

We always make a stop here while at the world. The food is wonderful very traditional German fare. The atmosphere is great and so much fun. This might be a good way to expose your kids to different food and they might find that they like it. They have pork and beef on the menu and pretzel bread whats not to like. I have a very very very picky DD who we have taken there several times and she always finds something to eat. Check out allears.com to get a current menu and reviews.

Black forest cake :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Thank you all so much. You have been incredibly helpful. :) Unfortunately, we have extremely picky eaters, but I think we may be able to work something out. I know we will really enjoy the experience and I hope our children do too. I'm not sure they even notice if they eat or not when we are in the most magical place of all.

Thank you again!

My dh loved it, me and dd left VERY hungry. If you like German food than you will love it here. The atmosphere and entertainment is great.

The only kid specific item we saw on the buffet here in Sept was Mac & Cheese. We had to buy DS some chicken tenders after we left.

My 7 year old daughter loved the Biergarten! And she is a very picky eater. She had macaroni and cheese, which she loved, chicken schnitzel, which is really just breaded chicken, fruit, and the heavenly pretzel rolls! Oh, and the desserts were great too-apple strudel, chocolate mousse cake, lemon squares, etc.

The atmosphere is so much fun! My daughter had a great time doing the Chicken Dance :)

We were just WDW just last week.

Here are some pictures of the buffet items:
