Trying to decide between these two for an ADR... my DH and I are traveling with our two girls, who will be 7 and 3.

What's your vote?

I've only done Biergarten, of the two, but I highly recommend it. It's one of our absolute favorite restaurants at Disney. Food is always good and entertainment is lots of fun. My kids are always out on the dance floor and we all enjoy the community seating as well.

For food quality, I would vote Spice Road Table. It has become our go-to TS in EP. The food is great, the atmosphere is lovely (you can sit either inside or outside and you have such a great view) and the CM's are some of the friendliest I've ever met in EP.

Biergarten is more of an "experience". The theming is more detailed as it looks like you are in a Biergarten and there is a band that plays throughout the day (there is a dance floor in front if you or your children are so inclined). The food is good, but not as good as Spice Road Table. Personally, I was never a fan of doing buffets when my DS was younger and couldn't navigate the buffet or filling his plate on his own. It was so much up-and-down for me. It was just never a relaxing dining experience. Also, you will be seated with 6 other people who may or may not want to interact with you or even acknowledge your existence at Biergarten. We've had two rather uncomfortable meals there - one where the mom of the other family instructed her son not to talk to mine (though they were having a very pleasant conversation). Another where the other family was very evidently annoyed that we were seated with them (even though that's kind of the point of the restaurant - not sure what they were expecting). If you are ok being seated with another family or two, it's fine. If you would rather have better food and a more private meal with your family, I would do Spice Road.

We like both but prefer Spice Road Table. I do think, however, that younger kids would probably enjoy Biergarten more. The atmosphere is more fun compared to Spice Road Table that is more relaxing, overlooking the water. The food at Spice Road Table is very good, but if your kids aren't adventurous eaters they will might not find much that they like there. Since Biergarten is a buffet they have the option of both the kid's items on the buffet as well as everything else. My son is 15 now but Biergarten has been one of his favorite restaurants at WDW since he was 5 or 6. He isn't fond of the food at Spice Road Table but he isn't a very adventurous eater.

I agree with the PP about the shared tables at Biergarten however. We are very friendly and enjoy meeting new people and talking to other families while at WDW. Biergarten can be an amazing experience if you are seated with other who also like to chat but it can be a bit strange when the others at your table are clearly annoyed that they are seated with other people or if you would prefer not to be seated with strangers. As a side note we had an amazing lunch at Biergarten once when we were seated with a Native American man and his wife. He was like a walking history book on Native Americans and shared all kinds of information about Native American history in Florida. My son was about 13 and was mesmerized. I'm sure we overstayed our welcome at the restaurant because we stayed and sipped drinks for quite awhile after we were done eating because we were enjoying our conversation so much. It was truly one of the most memorable experiences we have ever had at WDW.

Agree on this. It totally boggles my mind why you would book this meal and not want to interact with others at your table. I was once seated next to a boy, probably 8 years old or so. I asked him if he liked the food. His mother instructed him not to speak to me! But, I've had some great interactions with other guests as well. I really like the food and atmosphere, and will continue to take my risks with being seated with other members of the general public. Lol.

Biergarten is more fun.

Spice Table has the better food.

And if you sit outside at Spice Table, watching World Showcase from along the lake is a lovely view.

Biergarten. The food is good, there is a lot of variety (even for picky eaters), and the atmosphere is terrific. We have eaten here a half-dozen times, easily, and have never had snooty table-mates. In fact, we've always had wonderful dinner guests with whom we've usually found we have a lot in common. However, if you don't want to interact with your table mates and just concentrate on your family, it'll be fine. Just be polite and friendly, but talk mostly to yourselves. Folks will get the hint. Honestly, I think that unless you know your kids will love the Morroccan food, you're better off at Biergarten- there's always the music to keep the party lively!

Given your children's ages, I would say Biergarten. I'm not sure that anything about Spice Road would interest them... yes, seating near the water is cool, but the star is the food.

Wow! Who are these people who won't let there kids talk to other people?!? LOL

I haven't been to spice road table because the menu is challenging for my son, but he LOVED biergarten. There was lots to appeal to my picky eater... salami slices, plain roast chicken, schnitzel (fried pork cutlets) and he loved the mac and cheese (I understand that many kids are picky about their mac and cheese but he loves pretty much any starch with molten cheese) and he loved the desserts. The band was fun. I'm a single mom, so it's just the two of us and we were sat at a table with a family of 6. He had a great time talking about pokemon go to their daughters and they were very nice about letting us sit next to each other rather than across so I could attend to his needs more easily... plus it put their girls across from us for easier talking amongst the kids. They were dvc members also so we had tons to talk about, I think the waitress was trying to get us to leave at the end. One of the surprise standout meals from our last trip, but i went in with low expectations.

I've eaten at both. When we dined at Spice road, the dish I got was a bit too spicy hot for me. And I normally love kabobs (skewers)and mediterrean food. I think with young kids, you'll find more options at Biergarten that would appeal to them. My kids were not super impressed with Spice Road.

Two of our favorites but with young kids I would do Biergarten. They will love the show, atmosphere and probably food better.

But if they are happy with patio seating and adventurous eaters ... then Spice Road might be okay.

Spice Road Table and Biergarten are two of our favorite restaurants in WDW. I agree with the others that younger kids would probably enjoy Biergarten over SRT. At Biergarten they can pick out their own food from the buffet and the band is entertaining. It's a very lively atmosphere.

Not that it matters, but the tables at Biergarten seat 8, so for OP with a family of 4 they would be sat with no more than 4 other people which is likely just one family.

We've had some more interested in interacting than others, but it hasn't been an issue for us when they aren't. No one has been rude, just perhaps a little more shy and so we focus on the kids and the music and still have a great time in those cases.

I find it interesting when I hear people act annoyed by it because they have informed us every single time we dine there that we will be seated with others and ask if that's okay beforehand. So they do give them a chance to decline and find another option.
