Biergarten or San Angel Inn???

Run, run, run away from San Angel Inn. By far the worst meal I've had at WDW. The only good thing was the margarita. None of us finished our meal. We walked across the "street" and got something at the Cantina.

Im going to have to agree with the above poster.... I've eaten at San Angel Inn twice, and it was bad.... really bad. I wouldnt feed it to my dog. I don't know HOW you can mess up Mexican food.... but TACO BELL is a four star restaurant compared to my two experiences at San Angel Inn.... (ya, that bad....)

I'm not a restaurant basher but I agree totally. The only place on property that I have vowed to never go to again.

Wow...folks have some really strong opinions here. I'm curious what was so terrible about SAI, exactly?

Thanks for all the input, though. Talked to my DH and I think we might stay with our original plan...he's fan of buffets, even if just for curiousity's sake.

Biergarten. The food and staff was wonderful, plus you get some music while you eat!

San Angel Inn.....well I have to agree with some of the other posts. I would not call this food authentic, I have had authentic mexican, tex mex or spainish food. This does not even qualify for food, it was that bad. I would not feed that food to my dog.....sorry

We have not eaten at San Angel Inn - but I can put in another vote for Biergarten! I was also hesitant about it - but we ended up loving it. There are many different types of items on the buffet - and lots for my kids to choose from. My kids ate more at Biergarten than any other restaurant. The atmosphere and entertainment are wonderful.

I have eaten at SAI several times over the lst few years. My only complaint was poor service 3 years ago (not refilling waters, etc.). Poor service can happen at any restaurant. As a pp said, they have changed their chips and salsa. On our most recent trip (a week ago), SAI was our favorite meal. Our server was awesome (Myriam) and the food was delicious- not to mention the awesome atomosphere. I work in fine dining and grew up in Chicago. I've been to many, many restaurants over the years. Was this the best food I've ever eaten in my entire life? No. But it was good.:)
Check my TR in a few days (maybe even later today). I will be including photos and a report on SA from 12/13.

We have ate at both places. We have made Biergarten one of our places to visit every trip. The one experience we had at San Angel Inn was okay. The food was good but the portions you received for the money weren't upsetting to us. We actually love the quick service across the street for Mexican. The Biergarten has so much variety and you will have plenty to eat. The atmosphere is very cool too. We have met people from many different places while enjoying the atmosphere. I have to say I am glad we have tried it once but won't go back.

We love both, but Biergarten is my choice for lunch. The dinner menu is far better than lunch at San Angel, try the Mole Poblano.

Exactly the way we feel. I had thought the food at San Angel was average but the atmosphere always made it a must-do for us. Then I tried the Mole Poblano and it was delicious!

Biergarten has wonderful food in a wonderful setting, and we also consider it a must-do. We try and go for lunch because it's a little less expensive, and since the food is so wonderful we usually overeat (but it's so fun!) and get by with a snack for dinner.

I'd do both, but my opinion is you can't go wrong being in Disney World at either!

Have fun :goodvibes
