biergarten or akerhaus

Travelling with my husband and two children 12 and 10 over the week of EAster(before and after) Which of the two places do you recommend(can only do one for supper) We are all adventurous eaters.

I've never been to Akerhaus, but we ate at Biergarten for the first time a couple of weeks ago and absolutely loved it! It was one of the highlight meals of our trip, and I can't wait to go there again. Beforehand, I was a little hesitant because I had heard that the food was very heavy and not very good, but I did not find that to be true at all. We thought the food was delicious (as an aside, I'm a vegetarian and still found plenty to eat) and the atmosphere was festive and fun.

Another vote for Biergarten! We love the whole German atmosphere - great food and fun entertainment!

Akershus in Norway is also very good, but we like Biergarten better. :jumping4:

Done both and recommend Biergarten as well. Fun atmosphere and better presentation. I haven't been to Akerhaus since they changed the buffet format.

The Biegarten is one place we continue to go back to year after year. Plenty of stuff to choice from if the kids....or adults are picky eaters.

We just ate at Beirgarten for the first time a couple weeks ago and loved it as well. It was one of my favorites so far. Akershus is on our agenda for the next trip, so let me know how it is if you choose that one!

What kinds of choices are good for the kids and pickey eaters?

For pickey eaters there is very good baked chicken on the buffet, as well as roasted pork and roasted potatoes. They have macaroni salad and macaroni & cheese, and lots of different breads and desserts!
