Can anyone who has eaten both lunch and dinner at the Biergarten tell me if they thought one was much better than the other?

We eat there lots and always do lunch. I am not paying that much more for a some extra items on the buffet, there plenty at lunch to satisfy us. And then plenty of time to walk it off and treat ourselves to something with the money saved. :drinking1

We've done both, but prefer lunch. It's cheaper and usually not as busy. There are some extra items available at dinner, such as sauerbraten and beef rouladen, but I don't think they are worth the extra cost.

I agree .....we had dinner the first time for the CP package......then had lunch another trip and weren't even sure what the difference was for the price difference.

According to Allears menu, Braised Beef Roulades; Sauerbraten (Marinated Pot Roast); Potato Dumplings with Bread Crumb Butter; Herring Salad Schleswig Holsteiner Style; are offered at dinner but not lunch.

Not worth a $10 price difference to me.....we come away stuffed and happy every time.

Funny, when this question came up a couple months ago and I posted that the difference was, primarily the beef rouladen and sauerbraten not being available at lunch, several people jumped in with recent experience and said they were both on the lunch buffet now too...which agreed with the official Disney menu (not the allears menu which hasn't been updated since 9/14). But now the rouladen and sauerbraten are off the official lunch menu again. Hmmm...need very, very recent lunch experience.

Lunch at the Biergarten is a Do Not Miss for our family! We have visited Biergarten so many times that we have got to know several cast members.

It is always less crowded than dinner (except during the weekends of the EPCOT Food and Wine Festival).

Neither. By far the worst dining experience i've ever had while at the Biergarten. We'll never be back.

We had lunch there in mid-may, no Saurbraten or Beef Rouladen, but there was plenty to enjoy and it wasn't very crowded.

I book dinner for the Beef Roulades and entertainment as well. Nothing is cheap at Disney so it's worth the splurge to me :rotfl2:

I noticed people saying they book dinner because of the entertainment. What is different with the entertainment at dinner time? I have never been and have a lunch booked this fall. Will I be missing something other than a few food choices?

That was going to be my question as well but you beat me to it :).

The band starts at 12:30 and plays throughout the entire day so the band is there. So, the only difference is a few menu items that are there for dinner and not lunch. We do lunch since 1) it's cheaper, 2) we can cool down after our morning visit at another park, 3) that is our one major meal of the day since we can eat whatever we want and as much as we want, and 4), we can then do the rest of Epcot contented and full.

Magic Kingdom in the morning, lunch at the Biergarten and seeing Illuminations at night. Yep - very good days.

Thanks for all these replies. Either way, lunch or dinner, I cant wait to go. We are planning to go there for the CP in Dec.

The difference in price (from 2014) is about $20, as well as the later showing for CP. That just seems like a lot to me for a few items, but I do like the later time for show. We have done the early CP show and I prefer seeing it once its dark.

And the beer... is still bier. Which is why we drink it here.

And - the price of the beer is a good bargain as my husband did the calculations on our last trip there. Hint - get the big one even if you don't plan on drinking it all at the meal. They have To Go cups. One of those huge mugs lasted me through lunch and a couple of walks around World Showcase and through Illuminations.

I have had Dinner there 3-4 times and lunch at least 10.... There are extra items at night and it can vary... Lunch will have less and also will vary.... I can say they have always had the carved pork aka Fresh Ham most everything else can vary between pork or chicken or different types of sausage etc. They also have a salad section that is mostly the same and the breads are the same.
Funny thing is I always enjoy lunch more than dinner..... But be prepared as if it is a hot day watch how much you eat as you can have a not so good felling after it.
Either one you choose the food is good and you will find plenty that you will like.

Dinner and Lunch are now the same price. Does that mean they are now offering the same food for both meals?
