Biergarten Just for drinks?

It seems like biergarten would be alot of fun for me and my DBF... is it possible to just go for drinks?

I would love to check out the atmosphere however I have no room for it in our ADRs
 
I wouldn't think so since its a buffet. Pretty much everyone they let in the door is allowed to go and get food. I may be wrong
