Biergarten confusion

Going in Sept. with a 3 yo and 4 yo. None of us are particularly in love with the food selection at Biergarten, but I'm intrigued because I've heard such great reviews in regards to the entertainment and environment.

My question is, I'd hate to make ADR's and not see a show, so when do they perform? Is there a particular time that is best to book?

My family ate there last year for the first time. My daughter, then 11, did not care for the food even though it was a buffet which she usually loves. As far as the entertainment, and I could be wrong, but, I do believe it goes on through out the evening with the band taking breaks in between. I don't think you will miss the show. You may arrive during the show but then pick up the beginning at some point during your meal. (I hope this does not sound confusing to you). If I am wrong, I am sure that someone on the boards will correct me.

Keep in mind that times on this site are only for the week they are posted, but it gives you an idea about the scheduling.

Experience the excitement of Oktoberfest with a festive dinner show in the Biergarten.
Daily at 1:15, 2:15, 3:15, 4:45, 5:55, 7:00 & 8:05pm
Length of show: 25 minutes
Seating based on restaurant availabilty.

For lunch the first show is typically about 45 minutes after the first seating.

Keep in mind, you don't have to leave if you have the first seating, you can stay, relax, enjoy..even if you are done eating.

Honestly..not sure what isn't to like on the menu. Potatoes, meat, etc. Just good old comfort food!

We ate there last year. My kids enjoyed the show. It was Christmasy, we were there in Dec., but they were not particularly thrilled with the food. There were things on the buffet that they did eat, and they loved the desserts, but the overall opinion on the food was negative. BTW, my kids are not picky eaters at all.

As a vegetarian I don't think it's a good choice for you. Honestly they don't have a lot of veggie options & the 'wursts are one of the best things there. We often eat vegetarian or seafood at home, so the sausages are a change of pace for us.

To accommodate your diet better, I would skip it & do Tutto Italia instead - lots of yummy veggie options there ;)

I think the best buffets for a vegetarian are Boma and Tusker House. I am not a vegetarian but am very health conscious and that means vegetables at every meal. Both have more options then other buffets. If you are looking for an Epcot restaurant Restaurant Marrakesh in Morocco would be my suggestion.

Depending on where on the vegetarian continuum you are (vegan to pescitarian) you will have more options available.

I would not go to Biergarten for the entertainment. The food was good, but maybe I missed something or was seated in a bad area, but I did not in any way find what was going on entertaining. more like backround noise.

If you have no interest in the food, I wouldn't book it just to entertain the children. Children LOVE being able to go down and dance with the band, but yours may be a little young to go by themselves if your table isn't close to the dance floor (parents can go but the kids seem to like going down there and dancing around with other kids), and there are places they can do that sort of thing without your paying for food you won't like (like Playhouse Disney).

I forgot about Marrakesh! I haven't been there, but my neighbors went there (their whole family) and they loved it :) They said the belly dancing was really fun.

I actually found Biergarten to be most appealing to the adults in our group, so I agree with the others I would skip it if your intention is to please the children. The beer drinking is fun, and the show is cute, but I'm not sure it's worth the price just for the kids. The show is like, if you imagine a puppet theatre only with real people playing oompa band music and polkas, also they have those long horns they play in the Riccola commercials. There is a dance floor, but when we went not many got up and danced because they were busy eating and drinking beer. I was most disappointed in the desserts there - they looked so good but fell flat on taste.

Thanks Danielle! Caden loved the quick service at Morocco last year. I bet they'd like the belly dancing as well. I may have to book that instead.

I agree 100%.....The food was "good" but we had a group of 18 of us, and because of alot of good reviews, we went there for the 'show'. I guess my expectations were wrong, but I was expecting a typical 'Disney production' type of show. It was basically just german music playing in the backround, and I believe only once they asked the audience to join in. It only lasted 20 minutes tops, and the breaks were probably 15 minutes. Also, even though you're 'supposed' to get beer, those of us that prefer wine were able to order from a drink menu. Beware, the wine, and some of the beer, is expensive for a glass. The 'sweet, german' wine that the waitress recommended was over $10 glass! (it wasn't even filled all the way..lol) The prices are NOT on the menu, so who knew??? I would've never ordered the 2-3 glasses, if I had known....:rolleyes1
I really don't know what all of the fuss is with the show......wasn't too memorable. We enjoyed the Busch Gardens entertainment alot more.
