I’m seeing all kinds of rumors that BBB may be reopening soon. We have a trip booked with our four year old granddaughter this August and I would love to book an appointment for her. Which do you think is the more magical experienc, MK or at the Grand Floridia?

Ideally I’d like to go to the MK for rope drop and get in a few rides before a makeover and lunch at Cinderella’s Royal Table. After lunch we’d do the princess meet and greets. She’s big time into swanning around in princess attire right now (big scary rides not so much) so we want to get in as much swanning as possible.

Thanks!

Right before lockdown, I allocated a whole non-park day at Disney Springs for it. We went around and took pictures, and she was in love. The carousel at DS was enough for us. It was a good way to get in the spirit of the trip and use a half arrival day without park tickets.

We kind of recreated the look for the next day. It was a clip in bun, so not that difficult. Would have been easier with some hair spray and some hair glitter.

We brought our own dress to make sure they'd have the princess and size we wanted, and they worked with it, to make it look like it magically appeared. I thought shopping for it would be overwhelming, and I'm cheap.

We have done both Disney springs and Cinderella. The cast member at springs was amazing! but Cinderella had a bigger selection of dresses

All 3 of my girls have done BBB at both Mk and Springs. But the last time we DID go to Grand Floridian and they LOVED it. They were a little older and were able to tell the stylist exactly what they wanted- they are not restricted to the 4-5 styles BBB is. It doesn't have the dramatic flair of the fairy godmother and all that...but the styles were so much prettier and unique. I will see if I can add a pic. 656890656891

We’ve always gone to the BBB at MK. It’s surprisingly time consuming to go down to Disney Springs. I would try to book the MK location. We went pretty much every year before our lunch at CRT. There was a special photo location inside the gift shop (not the package deal which is ridiculously priced for what it is). At BBB they gave glitter nail polish with a crown cap (blue and pink), comb, crown (I don’t know if we paid extra for that) and a one time use makeup palette that they use in keepsake souvenir drawstring pink backpack.

The minimum age is 3 and I wouldn’t go before they’re 5 (many little ones left crying) as the hair dressers really do pull hard on the hair and it’s stiff and tight from the hair gel. Once they’re a preteen they don’t like the BBB updo and the GF ones appeal more.

They look so cute. I would think this hairstyle would be much more comfortable for younger kids vs BBB

Thank you all so much! We definitely want the whole fairy godmother in training treatment!

I am a little worried about the hair. DGD isn’t the most stoic kid at hair brushing time.

There are hairstyles that are less intense. I would choose the one that is braided (top right)

The GF one was called Ivy Trellis Salon (was changed to BBB in 2019); they have the full experience now (with pixie dust and princesses updos):

There is also a perfectly princess tea package and the garden view tea room that you can book (still not open, loved it when we stayed with Grandma at GF).

The Gf was doing character couture for adults. I’m not sure if the salon has moved.

sometimes BBB has special hairstyles during Halloween (Minnie up do).

Everytime we did BBB we’ve done it at MK with an 8 am prepark reservation, hit some rides and then done lunch at CRT. We did that when she was 3, 5 and 9. It’s some of the best memories from our trips. My daughter was used to me doing her hair in ponytails and on the tighter side since she has thicker curlier hair so BBB was never an issue. We also always brought our own dresses from home since we could get a different style that wasn’t so heavy and hot. This Ariel dress was perfect for the heat. This was back in 2011.

The bun was even easier. It's a clip in. Just make a pony and clip it in the next day. Amazing they can draw that out to take 20 minutes, really. I think the color ombre thing is the same thing.

We did a pre park opening at 8:15 am (9 am park opening, no morning hours) and it was extremely difficult to get there. We took a cab and they dropped us at the TTC and we had to find out where to go. It was stressful and we were 10 mins late. Make sure you know when transportation starts. Our entire party was allowed in and so the rest of the family could line up for rides.

Thanks so much everyone!

I was thinking I could give her hair a good brushing and braiding that morning to cut down on the stress there.

We’re open to buying the dress there but I’m concerned that they won’t have her size. We’d want a Cinderella dress in size 5. She already has Belle, Elsa, Rapunzel, Merida, Mulan and Moana.B0F4678A-3F54-41C8-9B74-A39399E60225.jpeg
