Our next trip to the world is in Sept 2009. By that time my daughter will be 4 & 1/2 years old. She ablosutely loves Disney princesses and dressing up so I was wondering what your thoughts on Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique were.

Is it suitable for a 4 year old?
Which is the best one to visit, downtown or hollywood studios?
When is the best time to visit i.e. morning, afternoon or evening?
How far in advance do you need to book it?
And most importantly, do you get value for your money?

Anyones thoughts on this will be greatly appreciated.

don't think it is in hollywood studios.i'm sure it is in, cinderellas castle, which would sway it for me,it just seems more magical.
it would be perfect, for a 4 yr old.i would definately book it,it will result in some magical memories, for you both!

i dont think there is one at hollywood studios, i know there is at magic kingdom.

I have my sister booked into the downtown disney one for her to have her hair done for my wedding, we are having the package where they have a little bun and the tiara. She is 12 but loves all things like that so she will have fun. I think its the cheapest package at around$50
I booked it at 6 months out as I think thats the earliest you can book.

Hi
We did the DTD "World of Disney" BBB with our DD who was just 4, last May. Since then a new BBB has opened in the castle - not sure there is one at the Studios Park, but I may have missed this and could be wrong.
We did it early afternoon after a swimming and shopping morning before heading to MGM, sorry - hollywood studios for the Fantasmic Dinner package and it worked well.
We did the "middle" package (can't remember what is was called) which was hair and make-up but no dress. We had promised both DD's new dressing up dresses so we bought those before going in and she changed into it.
She got a choice of a few "looks" and she chose the punky modern look.
If your DD likes dressing up and stuff she'll probably love it. I must say, my DD wasn't keen on the attention and sitting in the chair being "done-up". The little american girls love it and really do lap it up - they have a beauty pageant thing going on and most of them were asking for more and more make and hair glitter. My DD was exhusted when finished and crashed out to sleep five mins after coming out.
It's probably very "English" but we prefered how she looks in the before pictures!!
Here's some pics....
She went in looking like this....

:cutie: My DD was the same age as your DD when she did it last year! She became 'jasmine' and had the disney princess hair - which was fabulous and stayed in for 2 days (despite the August humidity!!) I'm sure your DD will love it! I do agree with Poppyanna in that DD did find all the attention a little strange...but she coped and we all look back on that day with fond memories. If it helps to know, DD had an 11.00am appt. in DTD and we planned the rest of the day so her hair could stay dry!!! Ha ha ha!! That day we had the BIGGEST thunderstrom/rain!!!!!!! Lol!!

I think the package you choose depends on your DD. For my DD it's all about the hair!! This year we've booked for the Coach package ($44.95) in Cinderella's Castle at 8.00am so that we can get a little head start in the park afterwards!! :yay:

we are going in july and ive booked for 3 of my girls to have it done , my youngest will just have turned 3. she is so excited to be having it doen.
my middle 2 had it done last time we went and they loved it.
im sure your daughter will love it

My daughter has been to the DTD one twice, once aged three and once aged four. If she is happy to sit there and have her hair fiddled with her age won't be a problem.

I believe they charge a premium for the BBB in the Castle.

The best value package is the cheapest one, I think. The first time we paid the extra $10 and I didn't think it was worth it just to have her nails painted. I thought the package was decent value but the most expensive version (including the dress and stuff) was OTT.

I'd recommend you have it done in the morning, so that your daughter can enjoy the effect all day; plus, there's less likely to be a back up. Also, if you pay for a photopass CD, you can have a photo session at Guest Services at DTD and the photos can be added on to your CD.

My daughter went to the BBB in the Castle in November. I can't remember what the package was called but it was the one where you get hair, nails, make up and the princess dress of your choice. I have to say it was expensive but worth every penny. Myself and Dh stayed throughout the whole process and took lots of pictures but there was a photopass photographer who took loads of pictures. Once she was "finished" we went back to Expo Hall where there did a mini photo shoot and some photos were included in the price and all the rest where added on to the photopass card. DD really loved it - made her feel really special. Her appointment was about 4pm and that night we ate with Winnie the Pooh at the Crystal Palace and everybody made such a fuss of her as she looked so cute.

I don't think 4 is too young. My DD doesn't mind if I fiddle with her hair etc and they do have to sit still for a long while so you would need to take this into account. There is a good thread on the BBB started by "Cancer Survivor" - I think it is in the "Theme Parks and Strategies" section. It helped me out a lot.

My DD had the full package in the castle 3 weeks ago, it was the most incredible experience for her to choose her dress and find that and all the accessories hanging up in her own changing room. She loved the attention and was called princess all day with the cast members bowing to her. She was also chosen to be Princess of the Day in the castle and led everyone up the staircase for lunch. It makes me smile just thinking about it, for us it was truely worth every penny, and your DD will have a fab experience whatever package you decide to go for. I will say I thought the castle was a much nicer setting than DTD( personal opinion only):)

Thank you for all your replies. I,m sure my DD will love the eperience.
One last question, how do you book it fom the UK?

phone the normal WDW DINE number and they will book it for you.Be sure to book it at the 180 day mark as it is very popular, on a personal note it is best to get it for first thing in the morning, then your DD will have the whole day as a princess:lovestruc
