I am interested in taking my DD to the BB Boutique - she will be 10 at the time of traveling. On all the posts I see it is mostly younger children.

Is it suitable for a 10 year old?
Any advice?

Dd13 did it in Oct for her B-day MNSSHP night. We were leaving the next day so she slept with her head over the bed so she could have her hair for the next day and travel home.

She was not into girly things at the time but she really enjoyed it. We did just the Hair and nails but they were just pressons so we won't be getting them again.

I see kids of all ages going into the salon. This summer DD and I are going to do it together.

There were kids of all ages the day we were there, from 3 ~ 14;) I think anyone would love the BBB, no matter what age!

I'm taking my 12, 10 and 6 year old while we're there (12 year old not interested in the princess stuff, but going for the funky diva look) 6 and 10 year old doing the princess dress up and then going out to tea.

Wow, The Disboards really work fast. I believe I have my answer.

I will take my DD10 for the works and my DD14 (wasnt even considering her up until I read these posts) just for hair, makeup and nails.

Thank you for the speedy replies...

I hope they enjoy it! My cousin was 10 last year on our summer vacation to Disney and she wanted to do the BBB so bad :goodvibes

I had wondered the same. Its a must do for my 6 yr old and I asked my 11 yr old just to make sure. The 11 yr old is really into the ipod/cell phone/aeropostale stage so I thought she might pass and she did. But I didnt want to just assume either.:lmao:

I had my hair makeup and nails done there last sept for my 37th bday. They told me princesses ages 3-99. I would pass on the nails not impressive or worth it, bring your own polish.

Have a great time!! Its WDW everyone can be a princess no matter how old!!!

Adults are TOTALLY welcome at the BBB. The CM's encourage mom's and daugthers to do it together! My stepdaughter is very shy, she wants very much to go to the BBB but would feel better if someone else had a princess makeover too...as her brother and dad are out on that one, guess I'm the princess stand in! I have an appointment for us both just before the Pirate and Princess party in August! She is very excited!!princess:

Thanks, I didn't know that. What do they do with the adults hair then? Is it cute? or not something you would wear in public.

There are 3 different styles to choose from- I saw several adults with them, and they looked cute.

Style #1 is the classic Princess 'do- a topknot with a tiara. Very pretty and not too complicated. Very Cinderella-looking.

Style #2 is the Disney Diva- they gather your hair into a high ponytail, then add hair extensions matching your own color to make a "long" pony with tendrils on the sides. They add a tiara to it- it looks cute. Kinda reminds me of how Belle's hair was done in the yellow dress in Beauty and the Beast.

Style #3 is Pop Princess- this would probably not be the best for most moms. They take the back of your hair and put it in a high ponytail. The front is parted into 4 sections and twisted to make 4 "rolls" on the head, which are then attached to the ponytail. 4 Bling Bling Mickey Head hairclips are added to the rolls, and funky colored extensions are added to the pony and teased to stand up all around the top and back. There are long braided sections of extension that hang down with tiny Mickey head clips on the ends. Very wild!!

OK, with just going by your desription I'm a big dork, becuase the last one sounds the best to me!! LOL :hippie: I used to do hair(I'm a SAHM now) but I never did updos myslef. But when I would have people do my hair, that is sounds kind of how we did it, minus the minnie clips! :rolleyes1

It is a cute style- DD got it in January, and if I was computer-savvy enough to post the photo, I would- but the extensions are in wild, non-natural colors like electric blue, purple, hot pink, or multicolor. That would be the only reason to not recommend it to the 30-something set. But, if you like wild and crazy colors, it would be right up your alley!!:cool1:

Based on your descriptions, DD1 will get Style 3 because that is so HER!, DD2 will get Style 2 because she's dressing up as Belle and DD3 will get Style 1 because she's dressing up as Cinderella!
