I managed to book 5 nights in a King room at RPR yesterday for the bargain rate of $131 (plus tax) per night :cool1:

As a long time Universal/IOA fan, I am really excited to finally have the chance to be able to stay at a Universal resort hotel. I have spent most of the morning reading the various threads on RPR and other Universal hotels.

So, those of you who have stayed regularly/before, what are your favourite things to do:

a) at RPR
b) at the other Universal hotels
c) what not to miss???

Can't wait - only 4 months and 4 days to go :cheer2:

a) My DH and I make sure to leave the kids with Grandma at the Pool and go have some Sushi. We also loe the pool at the hotel and enjoy relaxing out at the bar there.
b) We make sure to go over to HRH and enjoy the pool bar. We just love the pool bar at this hotel and the pool is a lot of fun as well with some great activities for the kids and even adults. I'm just not that thrilled with the rest of the hotel for small kids so we don't stay there.
c)The Luau at the RPR is great, so if you are going to be there when they have that going on you should go ahead and do dinner there. We also enjoy Citywalk and since it is close it is easy to head over there by boat or walkway and have a variety of dining and entertainment options. We always have to go to the Piano Bar one night. :worship:

Of course with the kiddos we end up doing all the fun adult stuff one night when Grandma can keep them entertained. :worship:

Jake's American Bar, located at RPR, is nice restaurant to relax at. They have karoake on some nights and a live band on other night. It doesn't open til 3pm.

If you're into character meals, Islands Dining room has a character meal on select evenings. I've never done this, but I have seen the characters going from table to table while walking past the restaurant.

As mjohnson96 mentioned, visit the other Universal Hotels. We like visiting the PBH hotel in the evening to watch the balcony singers.

Thanks for the recommendations. I should have mentioned it will be just DH and I so we are looking forward to some adult-only fun :) Whereabouts is the piano bar you referred to mjohnson?

The piano bar is in Pat O'brien's in CityWalk. It is a great time. Talented Musicians and tons of laughs.

The piano bar is one of my favorites, but I've missed it the last couple of trips. Hopefully, I get to go there on my next trip.

If memory serves, which because of drinks might be fuzzy, it is on the bottom level before Margaritaville on the left hand side if you are coming into City Walk from the Parking Garage area.

Here was a little description I found.

Pat O'Briens - a faithful recreation of the New Orleans original (at least in it's architecture) features dueling pianos and a wicked strong Hurricane drink (4 oz of RUM!).

My DH and I enjoy the dueling piano bars and this is one of our favorites to go to. :woohoo:

Sounds like we will definitely be going to Pat O'Briens then - we love Jellyrolls so if it's anything like that, we will be happy chappies :thumbsup2
