I received an email which appeared to be sent from ebay explaining that their was a problem with my account and I needed to fill out a form that was attached asking for my name, date of birth, social security #, credit card card #, code from the back of the credit card, and and ATM pin #. I forwarded this email to ebay and they replied that it was indeed fake. If you receive anything similar--forward it to spoof@ebay.com and they will investigate it! Hope this saves someone from identity theft!

You must look very carefully at anything that purports to be from any on-line vendor and asks for information by email. When in doubt, go to the vendor's site, get the customer service tel # and call. A reputable site will always have a phone number.

I received several of these same "spoof" emails. They look genuine, since they have the Ebay logo on them. I always forward them to Spoof@ebay.com

I always get an answer back from ebay stating that they were not from ebay. Don't ever give out your password unless you can truly verify the source.
