Beware Changing Hours

MY first day here at USO. Yesterday, IoA hours were 9am- 9pm. So we got up early to get to the gate in time for early hours. Hard for someone in Pacific time. But we did it....Only to find they changed the hours to 10am-7pm. It’s chaos in the lines right now.


I called guest services...just got the “these are the posted hours” spiel. Not a great start to my first trip here. wondering what else they’ll be changing. I feel like Darth Vader is saying “pray I do not alter the deal further.”

Aww, I am sorry you didn’t know the hours. Even though today is a Federal Holiday for most of the US, I was there end of September into October and the week day hours were much shorter than the weekend hours. When I was there, Studios were 9am to 5 pm, and Islands was 10am to 6 pm, with the early entry to Islands at 9am.

When you get up, can check the website or USO app, and can always ask the front desk. All have the current hours listed.


And to be fair, when I am there for 12 days, as I was, I rarely get up early enough every day, to make ripe drop. I also found the lowest crowd day was a Wednesday.

Even with the oops I am too early, I hope the rest of your trip is fabulous.

Weirdly, today’s hours are not posted on the website (at least not on the calendar). I only noticed because I was looking at hours for our upcoming trip and thought it was weird that there are no hours for today.

And OP: Yikes! That is bad. I was literally just thinking about rearranging our days to take advantage of the extended Monday hours. Guess I won’t bother. Thanks for the heads up.

Sorry about website not having hours. Just checked my USO app, says hours both Studios and IOA are to 7pm, Studios opened at 9am, and IOA will open now, as early entry started at 9 am for IOA, with the 10am public open. Those hours most likely will not change.

IOA is listed as opening at 9:00am on Sundays and Mondays through November 2nd. This is one reason I was thinking of rearranging our park days for our upcoming trip. I’m not sure what today was originally listed as, but it sounds like OP saw it the same for today.

Everyone in line was saying the same thing. It was supposed early entry at 8. I guess we got n extra early, but that was pretty crazy. Having fun. Lesson learned.

Where are you seeing that? For me, both the app and the site show IOA opening (through 11/6):
Monday - Friday = 10am
Sat & Sun = 9am

They have changed around the November hours a couple times on the app. They originally had early entry for November on the Studios side, but on one of the updates removed it. Now there says no early admission listed for either park, which is concerning. I tagged Universal in a twitter post and they replied "We recommend keeping an eye on our website for any updates to early park admission for November." Which, you know, OK I guess.

It’s on the website. Edited to add: I can see the images are pretty small/fuzzy. I'm new at posting images, if there is a way to fix that let me know. Also, I downloaded the app and compared the hours listed on the website to the hours listed on the app, and there are big differences in opening and closing times! I hope they fix this soon.

Very strange. The site on my phone and on my PC have the 10am openings. Maybe try a different browser? Clear cookies/cache?

It comes up that way on my phone and on my computer. Sounds like not just mine. Looks like the hours listed for Sunday & Monday are actually the hours for Saturday & Sunday. Maybe a formatting issue with USO's site? I don't know.

You know what I'm finding that stinks, is that November doesn't appear to have early hours for hotel guests? That would be a big bummer for me!

I think I have read that USO simply hasn't released that info as of yet. We're in the same boat as we'll be at USO Nov 25th-27th and are waiting for not only early hours to be posted but for an update to the actual operating hours as they are a bit short for those days still.
