BEWARE buying from FOSSIL in Orlando

I purchased a leather duffel bag from the Fossil outlet store at the Orlando Premium Outlet Mall on Vineland Ave. last September.

Love the bag, however have had trouble with the zipper from the beginning. This Easter it snarled up so completely I can no longer zip it open or closed.

As the bag was only 6 months old I contacted Fossil online. They directed me to their Canadian Warranty shop in the Toronto area. I got the bag to the repair location. After much calling and not being able to get through to the right person, I was finally told this past Friday that there was nothing they could do for me as the bag was purchased at an outlet store in the USA and not a regular store.

So I now have a bag with a broken zipper that I paid over $200 USD for that lasted about 6 months. The lady at the Canadian Warranty shop (who was quite pleasant btw) gave me the 1-800 number to take up the matter with the US customer service folks. Tried to dial it, but got a recorded message that I could NOT access that number from my location (Brockville Ontario)

Looks like I will retreive the bag and take it with us back to Orlando at the end of August and see what, if anything they can/will do for me at the store.

What a pain.
 
Do you use Skype? If so, you can call 800 numbers for free and if you call an American # it goes through just like if you were in the US. So that might be a solution for you to at least get through to the US Customer Service.
 
We've bought plenty of outlet FOSSIL goods in Gettysburg - and we did have a problem with one watch band. While the customer service here in Canada was not able to help, we did receive a new band from the US Customer Service. I gave up trying to use the 1-800 option. If you do a seach online, you can find a long distance number - call it, then ask them to call you back. I did that, and the lady I dealt with was REALLY nice.

I'll have no problem avoiding a store charging $200 for a bag. ;) Seriously though, sorry about your luck. Is there any way your credit card company could get involved (assuming you used a credit card)? You may also get their attention by contacting the BBB about the situation.
