I'm departing the D.C. area Dec. 13/14 and returning Dec. 21. On another thread you advised me to book the return flight, but wait on the departing flight. Could you tell me exactly what I need to do? I wasn't sure if you meant book a one-way for the return or if there's some other trick to it.

Thanks!

you have to book the entire trip in order to get a decent fare. you can't just book the return without the outbound or else you will end up with 2 one ways thus inflating your fare.

So would I be better off booking now because of my return date, or should I wait? Sorry to be such a pain--we don't fly very often.
