Beverages on the DDP?

I'm curious about beverage options at both the counter services and the table services while using the DDP. We do not drink soda, so I know this limits us. Is it an option to get bottled water? I understand that it wouldn't be refillable.
TIA

Yes bottle water is usually an option, and depending on the QS you can also get iced tea, lemonade, and juice (apple, orange)

Bottled water is often what I do.

And most CS places don't offer refills on their sodas. Only a couple...like Restauranosaurus and one other place.

I'm not a soda drinker and at TS restaurants I've gotten water, chocolate milk, iced tea, juice, smoothies, shakes, and virgin mixed drinks.
At CS restaurants I've gotten water, lemonade, tea, and energy drinks and at the resort CS milk/chocolate milk.

We like Pellegrino which is Italian, slightly carbonated water. A large bottle of that is covered by the plan. It serves two.

I just can't get used to drinking FLA tap water!

At TS restaurants, coffee is also available (like after-dinner coffee) - non-alcoholic only. :) We always have water with our meals, but we don't specify bottled water. Wherever they get the water, it tastes MUCH better then the water fountain water! The coffee with our dessert is a nice extra.

When a menu offers a smoothie or shake, ask if that counts as a drink - many do. Then you can have a smoothie or a shake as your "dessert" and save your actual dessert for later. Or get fruit as dessert.

To the OP, if you are visiting in the warmer months or just drink a lot of water and want to order a bottle with your meal, you can also ask for a cup of iced water and save the bottle to take with you for later. I can't add to the advice above - these posters have it all covered :)

I just read where juice isn't included anymore with the breakfast, is it not included at all or just not with another drink? We have to have our Juice with breakfast....we're fine with not getting 2 drinks for breakfast, although that kind of bites that they took that away for breakfast since you don't get a dessert....but again do they only allow sodas, milk or waters for breakfast now?

Never mind I found the 2011 brochure. Looks like you get an entree and a drink now for breakfast, no option for a pastry for 'dessert' and no extra drink. That's just crud :( Oh well, at least we still get a juice if we want and we can use our mugs for a soda.

just a note...the varieties of beverages listed in some of the previous posts are generally available at Disney-owned restaurants (we've had many of those choices ourselves), but at the restaurants that contract with Disney, you may find your choices much more limited. For example, your choices on the dining plan at Via Napoli are soda fountain Coke products only (including soda fountain lemonade) I thought last time we were there in January I misunderstood our waitress, so this last visit (this week, Feb 2011) I made sure to clarify the question and was told ONLY the Coco-cola products on the soda fountain were allowed for the dining plan drinks. Regular tap water was available. But Tea, coffee, bottled water, bottled Italian sodas and milk are NOT allowed as adult dining plan drinks (though available if you want to pay out of pocket for any of those choices) We were told similar message at Yak & Yeti in January 2011, and at Les Chefs a year ago.

My favorite tip... bring those single serve flavoring packets (cool aid is the popular one, but there are many others with more health options also). Ge the bottled water with your meal. Then in the afternoon when your bottle is empty re-fill it from a drinking fountain. Add the flavor packet (to mask the florida water taste) and there you go. You could then get a fresh water bottle at your next meal.

The little flavor pouches are light and easy to carry and reasonably cheap. (I am pretty sure that you can get them for Gatorade now also)

The counter service places that offer refills on their sodas, are mentioned above as well as.... Sunshine Seasons in the Land Pav. at EPCOT and also at Backlot Express in DHS. :goodvibes None I'm aware of at MK. :sad2:

Word of warning on the bottled water...
Some waiters at TS places will bring you the most expensive bottled water automatically to up their tip. That's nice if you appreciate fine bottled water, but often we would want to take the water into the park after the meal, so it didn't serve our purposes. (The "fancy" water was in glass bottles which they opened and poured into a glass.)
