Beverages on the DDP

Hi there! I'm going to be on the DDP for the first time in December, and I am wondering about what beverages you can get with the plan.....Is there a general rule or does it depend on the restaurant/counter service? I know you can't get drinks w/ alcohol or the drinks w/ the flashing light thing, but what about the other specialty drinks? Does it matter if the restaurant is a TS or QS? In particular, I'm looking at:


Via Napoli - Can you get the flavored agua fresca as your beverage?

Kona Cafe - Can you get a Cafe Mocha or Cappuccino?

Le Cellier - I think I remember reading on here that people were able to get a milkshake as their DDP beverage?

Starring Rolls - Can you get a Cafe Mocha or Cappuccino?

La Cantina de San Angel - Can you get one of the specialty Mexican sodas or the agua fresca?

Can you get regular coffee @ restaurants & QS instead of a pop or bottled water? (I'm assuming yes on this one...)

Can you get hot chocolate at a QS as your DDP beverage?


Does anyone have any experience w/ this?

I don't think the CS have hot chocolate. I know the resorts do. If the other ones have it then yes you can get it as your drink.

At the CS places you can get any drink listed on the board. If they have coffee then you can get it as your drink.

At both Le Cellier and Kona Cafe I had smoothies. I would think you can get the milkshakes or specialty coffees (without alcohol). PS the mango smoothie at Le Cellier is really good.

I haven't eaten at the other restaurants.

Most of the CS restaurants we ate at on our trip in March, we were able to get smoothies or milkshakes with our meals. I think we got milkshakes at Kona, if I remember correctly. If it is on the menu, you should be able to get it, but I would ask your server. They are very helpful and will tell you what you can get with the DDP.

Those are TS restaurants.

CS have a limited drink selection.

Via Napoli - no agua fresca. Had to get a manager involved to get a coffee instead of a soda allowed, but that was when they first opened and I think it was just a confused waitress.
