Hey everyone!

I've read that in the past, people have been able to get smoothies and other drinks in lieu of a soda for TS meals. I'd like to make a collection of what people have been able to drink at CS and TS that is included in the DDP but isn't a soda.

I have been off the sauce since April 1:thumbsup2 . Was a huge Diet Coke drinker and needed to quit for health reasons...and I don't want to be tempted to fall off the wagon on our August trip:lmao:.

Please post what drink you have successfully ordered at TS and CS that isn't soda pop. I will keep a running list going here if I can get some help!:surfweb:

TIA!

Whispering Canyon Cafe: bottomless milkshakes
SciFi Drive Inn: milkshake, specifically oreo cookie flavored, also was able to get coffee with dessert on DDP
Kona Cafe: one nonalchoholic specialty drink; Virgin Pina Colada, Virgin Strawberry Daiquiri (9/06)
Turf Club: blackberry lemonade
Boatwright's: milkshake
Boma: Berry Blast Smoothie (9/06)
Le Cellier: Chocolate Rasberry Shake (the best), Niagara Refresher, Mango Smoothie (9/06)
Ohana: Smoothie (7/06)
"most/many ts:" iced tea, coffee, tea, lemonade, apple juice, milk, chocolate milk

Keep 'em coming!:goodvibes

Good thread... I don't drink soda, and while I do like water (but not so much a fan of un-bottled water when on vacation), I'd rather get something else if it's available. Hopefully people have some suggestions. Thanks! :goodvibes

My kids have gotten milk, choclolate milk, apple juice, ice tea and lemonade. We also got bottomless milkshakes at WCC-and then of course they didn't really want their dinner.LOL

At Kona Cafe, you can get one nonalcoholic specialty drink OR unlimited refills of any soft drink. Most of the time, I get iced tea (everywhere). At Turf Club, you can get blackberry lemonade, so I'd think any drink from that menu is covered.

Disclaimer: "You can get" = "I got". YMMV.

We were able to have milkshakes as our drink at both Sci Fi and Boatwright's!

Are teas, coffees, lemonade and fruit punch on your list of no-nos?

How about the also mentioned juices and milk?

Tea is fine. It's not caffeine that is a no-no, it's the phosphoric acid in soda that I need to stay away from for health reasons, but also the carbonation gives me digestive problems:o Lemonade and juice are okay. A little high in calories and not too thirst quenching. Fruit punch is a no no because of the artificial dyes, which also affect my gi tract negatively:o.

I was hoping to hear more about some possible specialty drinks (like milkshakes at SciFi) that would be worth the extra calories.

Is the iced tea brewed tea or is it like a Nestea or Lipton dispenser from the soda fountain? You know what I mean? Sometimes they even have fake lemon flavor added... Anyone know?

More options anyone?

Oh - Wow! Great thread! My kids don't drink soda - and I've been wondering what they can drink as an alternative. They love water (bottled only) but WDW is a special occasion and I can't wait to hear the answers.......

In July we had smoothies at 'Ohana, though I've read somewhere on these boards that practice is no longer allowed--but we did get them in July, in addition to other drinks, so I had iced tea, too.

I remember getting unflavored iced tea (not sure if brewed or fountain:confused3 ) but it was real lemon served with it for sure:goodvibes

April 2007 at Boma and Ohana we were told smoothies and any virgin drinks were NOT included w DDP and we paid out of pocket for them. Contemporary Steak House they were included and we each had one but I foget the exact drink names.

Last Nov., I had to pay OOP for bottled water at all of the TS where I ordered it...50's Prime Time, LeCellier, Wolfgang Puck's Cafe, 1900 Park Fare, Raglan Road, ESPN, Chef Des France, and Planet Hollywood.

When we ate at 50's Prime Time in January, milkshakes, smoothies and other non-alchoholic specialty drinks were included as beverages on the DDP. I believe that the glow-cube drinks were excluded. I had a great sour apple drink. I can't remember the exact name of it...it was something like Apple Pucker...but it was bright green and it was fizzy and yummy.

Also, almost all of the CS and TS restaurants serve Minute Maid Light Lemonade, which I love and ordered frequently. It is a great alternative to typical soda as it is low in calories, non-carbonated and caffeine free!
