The mod at BFT really is a piece of work, isn't she? Her advice is wonderful, but she can be touchy.

I went through her site with a fine tooth comb, but I didn't use her kick-back link. (How would she know?) Using her information, and previously posted winning bids, I made great deal on Priceline. Then I thought, hey - my winning bid and experience might be helpful to the next person, so I thought I would "pay it forward" so to speak. Took the time to register, posted my bid and strategy - and sure enough, the response was "thanks for posting - next time use my link." Hah! Darn it - she caught me. (How did she know?)

AND - she has been pretty rough on people that ask for "bidding assistance" if they don't give ALL of the information she requires...and that is the ONLY part of the whole site that I just do not understand - it's too complicated. Does it have to be rocket science? - it seems much more helpful to know what has been winning (or losing) in the last few days.

Actually, I can't wait for the opportunity to do it again - it was a fun puzzle to work out; and then to win is exciting!

And I thought the guy at betterbidding.com was bit crazy... He'd snap at people for not including their dates and the poor unsuspecting newbies just didn't get it. When I was new I was so hurt by his tone I re-registered under dh's email address to have a fresh start. I guess I've been behaving well.

I do use his links to HW just b/c his info helps me so if this can help him in return then it's mutual. He has been correct for us around 7 times.

That's exactly how I feel about it...it's a fun puzzle with a financially renumerative reward! The one time priceline didn't come through for me was when I was attending a summer conference in Chicago (nearly 40,000 in attendance). Even a day before the conference still couldn't find anything reasonable.

All you have to do is google "bidding for travel" and "sheryl mexic" and you'll find dozens of forum reports where her abrasiveness has been documented. Just kills me that some people don't get it.

Oh - isn't that funny! I was going to say, "she is well known all over the internet travel boards as being ___________" but I just couldn't think of a good word for it without slamming her - "abrasive" is exactly right.

But -you just can't beat her advice (providing you take the time to understand it) and the postings are helpful. Everywhere the topic of Priceline comes up, her website is not far behind.

Didn't she used to have a website partner years ago? Someone who worked with her on the board?

Thereuare is a beacon of sanity compared to Sheryl. There's a method to his madness as he takes advantage of the formatting of the subject line to produce the maps, calendars, etc. so if you don't put things in just the right order in just the right place, then the bids won't appear in those services. I almost always mess it up and my next msg on the thread is an apology and a request to fix and he's always been very nice about fixing it.

Personally, I think if he developed a "fill in the form" or drop-down menu user interface, he'd have a lot more luck with entries getting filled in consistently. TravelGoop is a similar service to BB/BFT but uses a form for users to record information about their purchase <http://travelgoop.com/addpurchase.php?id=64>. Much easier for users but the mod gave up on promoting the service quite awhile ago so it doesn't have the critical mass necessary to make it a useful service.

OMG, I found this great resource and FlyerTalk by googling for information on being banned from BFT! Too funny!

I just got banned for posting my bidding information on her site and on Bidlesstravel, and I was banned from the former and now sticking with the latter.

What is her problem? I was told that BLT started up as a result of the owners being banned from her site, too, which is ironical, to say the least.

I am currently staying in the Hyatt Place Convention Center through Priceline for $35/night. It is very nice and we are enjoying it.

Be careful of biddingfortravel. I posted my bid and got banned! If you don't go through "HER" site to book, off with your head!
