Better to character meet in EPCOT or MK?

Hello! I'm planning a trip for my close friends in August. I have planned several trips in the past, but they have never been character meet heavy (because my family prefers rides/shows over meets,) so I'm not as well versed in fitting character meets into tour plans. We are going to MK and EPCOT, and I was wondering if focusing of character meets our EPCOT day would be better than on our MK day because we want to ride more rides in MK. Also any advice for planning character meets in a tour plan would be appreciated, because I have never had to include that before, and it's throwing me off haha. Thank you!

I think the meets at Epcot are better. That's just my opinion. Check out KennythePirate.com. He has tons of useful character info.

guess it depends on what characters you are interested in meeting

If you want to meet characters in their classic costumes, then Epcot is best. You can FP the character spot in Epcot.

Donald and Daisy are in DHS wearing their classic costumes.

I somewhat feel the character meet n' greets at Epcot should have shorter waits except for Anna and Elsa.

I would say do the character spot in Epcot - I would get a Fastpass for it, since so little in Epcot truly needs a fastpass now anyway (that you can book in advance).

I feel like with this group mostly face characters (various princesses, Peter Pan, and the like) but also they would probably enjoy some classics like Mickey/Pluto/etc.

In our experience the princess lines at Epcot were shorter than MK, however we did the meet and greets in World showcase right at 11am so that might make a difference. DD4 wanted to meet and get a photo/autograph from every princess so I had to do a little planning to find them all. We waited about 10min each for Mulan and Belle at Epcot and about 30min each for Merida and Tiana at MK and Pocahontas at AK. Thankfully the rest of the princesses and Mickey characters we checked off at character dining or with a FP because I do not think I would’ve had the patience to wait that long for every character!:)

MK Mickey is the talking Mickey. (I think Kids like him more than adults)

If you have a Disney Visa, then the Epcot character meet is well worthwhile.

If you can fit in a breakfast in Norway, that covers off some princess and the character spot (EPCOT) covers off mickey, minnie, goofy. We don't add time into our day for character meets but did get a FP for the character spot this past trip and do a few character meals as well

The Epcot character spot will get you Mickey, Minnie and Goofy. You can Fast Pass it. Pluto is up at the front of the world showcase. Donald is in Mexico in his sombrero and poncho. You got Mulan, Belle, Alice, Aurora outside around the World Showcase. Plus Anna and Elsa in Norway at their summer house. The MDE app has a character section that will show you what character is where.

Epcot.

Anna is always my fave meet and greet. She’s too funny lol

You can meet most of the princesses in EPCOT too

If you guys want to meet some of the princes Trattoria al Forna at the Board Walk has both Flynn and Eric!

I vote for Epcot too - especially if princesses are on your list to meet. We did over 40 character meets during our trip in November, and I found the ones at Epcot to be awesome. My kids are younger and so rides were a bigger priority for MK time. I found having a general plan on who we wanted to meet when to be very helpful - especially because many characters are only out for 40-45 minute blocks of time scattered throughout the day. For example, I think the day we were in Epcot, Jasmine only had 4 sets scheduled the entire day, so we had to be very mindful about catching her during one of those times. I would usually try and get in line about 10 minutes before each set was scheduled to start. We would be one of the first to meet them once the set started. Lines can build very quickly for princesses and other characters without the FP. I highly suggest the Joy and Sadness meet. The interaction was awesome.

It depends on which character you want to meet. Most of them only appear in one place. If they appear in multiple places, they often have different outfits, so you might want to keep that in mind, too.
