Better time to go in Feb/March?

Even though we just got back from Disneyland last week my kids have both decided they want to go again for their birthdays. My husband already told them we could as long as it fit into their birthday budgets but we would only go for 2 days.

We are looking at going the last week of Feb or first week of March. My question is would it be better to go during the week or on a weekend?

Right now I'm kind of leaning towards Thursday Feb 26 and Friday Feb 27th. We could be at LAX right about 830 and then hopefully get to the park by 1030. We would then spend the entire Friday there and take an early Saturday morning flight out.

But I was also thinking of maybe doing a Sunday and Monday or just a normal Saturday and Sunday. Which is normally the least busiest during this time?

Thanks. Sorry about the wording it should say "best time"

It is dapper days at Disneyland that weekend Sat/ Sun. I've never been during...but from what I've read, could have approx 20,000 extra people in park. We will be there during this time too...as I did not realize the dapper day thing prior to booking. :rolleyes1

Thats nice to know. I guess I'll look at some other dates as we are hoping for a slower time frame.

If you did Thu/Fri and flew out on Saturday you'd probably be okay. The weekend before or after would likely be even better.

I think the weekend after (March 7&8) is Cheer Camp/Competitions. This brings in lots of teenager groups.

Any more as you have probably read, there is NO slow time in the parks. We have found Monday/Tuesdays to have less people than Thursday to Sunday.

Pick the dates that work best and plan for the parks to be at least a 7 out of 10.

If you check in Thursday 2-26 and check out on Saturday 2-28, you could take advantage of Dapper Day's discount for the DLR hotels. GCH $249 DLH $199 PPH $179 per night.

Sounds like a nice way to spend the Birthdays!

Hmmmm that might make it a better time to go then. I just looked and we could get the DLH hotel for 2 nights for the price I was expecting for the 1 night. We went over thanksgiving and it was way busy but still manageable. So we thought if we avoid a weekend maybe it won't be as busy since schools will be in session. We don't want to pull our kids out of school but 2 days won't kill them I guess.

We can't do the following weekend because my husband has a 2 week conference he attends/works. So we can miss all the cheerleaders lol

Do you register for Dapper Days? When going to make reservations, it says something about the hotel checking the event registration to make sure you are part of the event.

I don't think so. On the Dapper Days website it states: "The Disney sales site may mention requiring "convention registration," but we do not have nor require any registration and Disney is aware of this"

If you can deal with crowds, Dapper Days is fun, and Disneyland is open later on the weekends. So, I would go on the last weekend in February (and hope it doesn't rain).

We went last year during Dapper Days (in the parks that Friday and Saturday). Crowds seemed pretty average to us, and the weather was gorgeous. The Dapper Days ticket discount was nice, too. We're booked this year for that same time frame. :)
