I'm trying to add a person to an existing ADR for Tusher House breakfast and Chef Mickey breakfast or dinner. NO LUCK for our Nov11-21 vacay! Everything is booked.

Should I bother trying to call?
Should I continue to check online twice a day?

What are my odds at 3 weeks out?

Personally I think it is faster and easier to look online.
The CMs see the same as you do, you don't have to go thru all the stuff to get a person. JMO

That week is pretty booked from everything I have read, it will be very difficult but if it were me I would look multiple times a day, not just twice.
Every time I sat at the computer I would look.

I prefer to book online too. It just seems quicker. Plus for some reason I like to see the times/locations as I do it. I like the online system.

As others have said, I wouldn't bother calling. It will take up more of your time and the online folks will be seeing the same thing you would see online.
That being said, I would definately continue to check online as often as possible. I have seen things open up a week before we left. :)

I have an iphone and the WDW mobile web site has a very easy to use link for making ADRs... I could check for ADRS repeatedly very easy while doing other things (watching tv, etc.).

Well, actually right now I am experiencing trying to add a person and I don't claim to have a lot of experience, but online you can only try to find a new reservation. Like I needed to go from a table for 2 to a table for 3(4) because I didn't count my infant when I made my original ones.

I looked online constantly for a table for 3 and tried searching for 4 since it would be the same size table and there was nothing. But I called the same day and the CM instead of looking for a new reservation just tried to modify the one I had…something I don't see as an option online. She was able to modify 2 of my reservations. She modified my Chef Mickey's breakfast on 11/23 and 1900 Park Fare dinner on 11/25. My confirmation numbers stayed the same for both.

The other thing about calling is I can ask them to check every meal over a span of days, something else I don't see online except for CRT. It only lets you check one day and one meal at a time.

Of course the only time I am able to get into the online system is in the evenings whereas I can call from my office, wear my headset and work at the same time. Just saying, since you're trying to change a reservation as opposed to making a whole new one, it might be worth a phone call or 2.

I did get online at 5am this morning and found a new Crystal Palace reservation for us though.

There is something to be said for calling. When I went to do my ADR's online, it said CRT had no available the who date range I was looking. I called and spoke to a wonderful lady who found the same exact time was in fact available and reserved it for me. Additionally, she assisted me with the rest of my reservations, and got me everything I wanted even when online it showed no availability for two other restaurants I was looking for.

I am big for doing it online, as I do everything online, but there is something to be said for calling. She even gave me some useful tips. :goodvibes

OP - I have Chef M and TH ressies for that week that I will be cancelling. What dates/times/party size are you looking for?

Thanks for helping.......I'm looking to add a person to my TH adr (from 4 people to 5 people) on Saturday morning, 11/13. Also, trying to add a person to my Chef M adr (from 4 people to 5 people) on Saturday 11/20.

I just spoke to a nice lady at the reservation line who also told me to call. I was checking on an ADR that wasn't showing up online (that freaked me out but she found it) and asked about adding a person. She said it's better to call and ask them to add a person than to look for an new table for 5. Unfortunately, no luck adding. :sad1:

Thanks for the advice. I guess I just have to keep trying.

So why did they change the system so we can't look over a span of five days anymore? That was so helpful when I planned our last two trips - if there was just one restaurant I was having a hard time booking, it was just a few clicks to check availability. Now, I have to check for each day individually. Honestly, it's almost easier now to have the CM check for me while I'm on my morning commute! :D
