I usually only buy Yankee Candle products. I love a lot of their scents, especially the summer, beachy ones. I've been burning some of their fall scented tarts, but the scent doesn't seem to last very long.

I was in Walmart the other day, and on a whim, I picked up a pack of the Better Homes and Gardens scented wax cubes. Some of the fall scents don't appeal to me (I don't like French Vanilla scent in any brand of candles) but I thought I'd try the Warm Crackling Campfire.

I put one cube in my Yankee Candle warmer and within minutes, the entire downstairs had a lovely fall, woodsy smell. I love it! I actually had to turn the warmer off after a half hour or so (something I've never had to do with Yankee Candle tarts) because it was getting to be a bit overpowering. The scent reached the upstairs area as well.

Anyone else try these wax cubes?!?!? I can vouch for the warm crackling campfire scent! Wow!:laughing:

I love the B&G wax cubes. I will have to try and find that scent. Last year I bought a bunch of them after the holidays for .50 a pack. I think they were discontinued scents. I do not like a lot of the newer scents, I wonder if they changed the oils in them or something because they smell more "fake".

I love gingerbread and spice cake but I didn't see those this year.

Yeah, I forgot to mention that they cost a lot less than Yankee Candle products! I paid $2.00 for a pack of six. You REALLY got a bargain, though!

I can't remember what the other scents were, but I do know there were other fall scents.

I'm glad I opened this thread.. When I'm back at DD's during the winter her DH prefers no candles - do to an overactive, leaping, jumping cat - LOL..

Anyhow, I was just thinking about ordering some plug-in tart warmers that I saw but have never used tarts before.. I/we like something fairly strong - not strong for 5 minutes and then you smell nothing at all..

Any suggestions? And of course, the less expensive the better - as long as they maintain a nice strong scent..:)

That sounds pretty darn reasonable.. About how long does one cube last?

My daughter bought me the electric warmer and scent cubes for Mother's Day. I use it a lot! And when we got the new Super Wal-Mart they had the scent cubes on sale for $2, plus I found a few more in Frankenmuth.

The scents I have are:

Balsam Forest
Line Dried Linen
Soft Cashmere Amber
Harvest (using this one now)
Spiced Berry
Pomegranate Passion
Lemon Verbena
Hawaiian Pineapple Cilantro
Sugared Melon Kiwi

I'm like you I usually stick with Yankee Candles. But I tried the BH&G candle (Warm Crackling Fire) and the scent has lasted as long as my Yankee Candles. I love it!

A long time! So far, I haven't found out. When I change smells, I can even pour back into the holder and save it as it will reharden. I only did that once though. Usually I just toss. (I think I have tossed 2 since January and saved one.) I work from home so I am here a lot and when I'm here, I almost always have the thing going!
Much better than a candle--the smell is better, less dangerous (Hey, I'm the wife of a FF! ) and, well, I just like them better than candles!

It's a purchase I have been very happy with. I was going to buy a Scentsy product but saved the $$. If they ever had a burner I fell in love with I might splurge (but, as always, it must pass the Disney test. ;) )

I've been using the same cube for three days now, and it still has some life left. I usually leave the warmer on for half an hour or so, maybe twice a day. With Yankee Candles, I leave the warmer on for a lot longer.

I love the BH&G cubes. I couldn't stand the yankee candles ones. They were expensive and didn't last long.

I have some candles that I use on my warmer that I got at Kohl's several years ago. They are a pumpkin spice scent that is very good, very strong. I love that in the fall.

I've tried the Walmart BH&G but usually I prefer Scentsy. It's just another brand for the same thing. Ideally you get the warmer that uses a lightbulb to melt the wax so you don't have an open fire. They should sell those at Walmart next to the wax.

Sounds good.. For that price, they're worth a try..:)

The oatmeal cookie one is amazing - but I think it was only out around christmas.

Doubt I'll look at a Yankee candle ever again. My experience with the Better Homes & Gardens wax cubes is that they last a good deal longer and cost so much less. Use them every day. :thumbsup2
