Best/worst phone calls you ever had?

Any phone call where I found out someone died are my worst calls. Not sure about my best call.

Came home from sharing Thanksgiving dinner at a friend's home to a ringing phone. It was my sister-in-law, saying my mother-in-law had died.

Getting the call that it was discovered that my newborn child had a genetic, life-shortening, incurable disease. While they are doing very well and they've made amazing strides since then, that was the worst call of my life.

Worst - got a call back from my doctor while at was work and they dropped the bomb of 'it's cancer'.
I fell apart at work - thankfully I was in a conference room with no windows.

I had to call my parents right after and then put myself together to finish the work day as I was training someone new and not at my home office.

thankfully God brought me through it. Can't believe it's been 3 years.

Best call from my wife saying that we were going to have our 3rd child. 18 years later and he is a fine young man.

note - you might be thinking this something that should be done in person but when you have had several kiddos you just kind of roll with it.

Remember with your first, they drop their pacifier and you practical treat it like a 5-alarm fire and quickly sanitize the living crap out of it. When the 3rd rolls around you either just brush off the pacifier on your pant leg or even stick it in your mouth to clean it off. Just sayin'

Worst call was my daughter screaming into the phone that my 6-year-old granddaughter was being rushed to the hospital. She died a day and a half later.
Best call was from the doctor, telling me that I was pregnant after fearing that I would never be a mother.

My dad calling me from the hospital to tell me that they found stage iv cancer. He was only in the hospital for what he thought was to be routine gall bladder surgery. He died about 4 weeks later. And my sister calling me to tell me that my mom’s heart stopped & they got it back but she was on a vent. We withdrew care about a week later after it was determined that she had severe brain damage.

Oh my I’m so so sorry for your loss & your daughter. I cannot imagine!!!

Call from my sister that our dad had a heart attack. He was life flighted, had surgery, then had stroke and died 3 months later.

I can still remember the call we got when my grandparents were killed in a plane crash. It was over 35 years ago now but it's still a strange club to belong to.

That's terrible, and I'm so sorry. My uncle flew a Cessna plane. I kind of always knew it wouldn't end good for him, but still a terrible phone call to get.
