Our hotel choices have been narrowed down to
Best Western Park Place Inn
Best Western Anaheim Inn

Anybody have any feedback on those two??

I just returned from the travel agent, and we looked at a bunch of hotels on Harbor Blvd. These are the only hotels that aren't all booked up!!
Why so busy in December!!!????!

Any info on pools and breakfasts would be great! Thanks! :flower:

BW Park Place, but book it in a hurry. I'm actually surprised it is availabe since it is really popular. I've not stayed there myself, but have friends who have. Everyone I know has been pleased with it. The only reason I haven't stayed there is because I always find something that is cheaper.

You can't get any closer to the main entrance than the Park Place. It is even closer to the entrance than the Disneyland Hotel. The only thing closer is Grand Californian.

There really hasn't been a slow season this year because of the 50th anniversary. Usually it's pretty slow from the beginning of Sept through our Thanksgiving in late November. While it is not as busy as the middle of summer, crowds have remained pretty constant this year.

I second got2travel -- Best Western Park Place Inn - It's nice for a moderate, and I personally like it a lot better than BW Anaheim.

Thanks!!

MaryJo-I have been wondering where you were! I was asking alot of questions the last week, and I kept wondering when you were going to show up and help me!! (I know you are the resident DL expert!!) I am always referring to your past posts-glad to see you here! :flower:

Well, I think I would choose Park Place. I haven't stayed there but it is right at the crossing for DL on Harbor. We stayed at the Anaheim Inn which is just a little farther down. We never made it to the pool but I can tell you there is no breakfast offered there. There are several restaurants close by (IHOP, Dennys). Anaheim Inn wasn't too bad, shoot for a room a little farther back if you can. We were near the front desk so it was kind of noisy until about11-12 but the rooms aren't bad.

We stayed at BWPPI in August for five nights, and plan to keep staying there in the future. It is the closest hotel to the DLR gates, except for the GCH, which is about the same distance (except for its special entrance to DCA).

We got a suite with fridge and microwave. The price was right, it was clean, and the staff was friendly.

We walked to DLR in the morning, came back each afternoon for a swim and nap, and walked back again afterwards. We stayed at the parks until closing. It was so nice having such a short walk.

BWPPI it is!!

After looking it up on Expedia,Travelocity,Tripadvisor and Hotels.com, it looks the best!
I remember after our last trip, saying I wanted to stay there because of the location (we were at Park Inn, just a few doors down).

Thanks for all your words of advice!

Hurry up and book. We are going the first weekend in Dec and I originally booked 2 nights and by the time I went to add a 3rd a week later there was no non-smoking rooms left, so we had to take smoking for the last night. By the next day there was no rooms at all left!

We just returned yesterday from a stay at the BWPP Inn and Suites and for the money, it suited our purposes (4 adults, 1 child and a toddler), was super close for walking with the kids, clean and as others have said the front desk was friendly and helpful. I was glad we made the choice after having asked a million questions on this board earlier this summer. My only real complaint, and one which we lived with, is the fact you can hear a lot of the "noise" over top of you if you are on the 1st or second floor, (apparently kids running around and back and forth in the room) and the walls are a little thin, but otherwise I would recommend it. If you cannot swing staying in a Disney Hotel, this one is a good choice. Also, I was not impressed with their restaurant, Captain Kidd's, but others might be fine with it.

I have always stayed on site, but this last trip we went down a day early and so we wanted to stay somewhere cheaper, but CLOSE for the one night before our GC stay.
For the money, it was ok! If we had to stay offsite, there is where I would stay because it is soo convenient. It was a little old, and the parking was extrememly tight, but I was expecting that being so close to Disneyland!

And I totally agree about the closeness....You walk across the street, and you are right where all the tram and shuttle drop off area is...walk a little farther and you are at the security station for the main plaza. Couldn't be any easier! :teeth:
