We are booked to go to DisneyLand April 17-20 and staying at Best Western Stovall's. Anyone stayed there recently and have opinions/advice on walking to the parks from here? We will have a rental car, so if you think parking would be better we are open to that....we have done Disney World several times, and are looking forward to this kid free vacation for our anniversary! :woohoo:

I've done the walk many a time, and it's a pleasant walk (takes about 10-15 minutes, walking at a not-slow-not-fast pace) so long as you take the shortcut :thumbsup2

The shortcut being:

Start out on the corner where the hotel is (Katella & Disneyland Drive). Cross the street to walk up the right side of Disneyland Drive, toward the Park. This area has a nicely landscaped walkway that's further away from traffic than a normal sidewalk. When you get to the Grand Californian Hotel, follow the signs (They will have an arrow that says "To Disneyland" next to them) through the lobby & out the doors to DTD. From there, just follow the flow of foot traffic into the Park. Easy, and alot more pleasant than walking down Katella, up Harbor, etc...faster, too

You may want to take the ART bus (Route 9) back to the hotel at night, as the walk back can seem very, very long at the end of a day in the Park.

Personally, I wouldn't drive to/park at Disney from the hotel, as parking's free at the hotel & costs about $14 at the Park.

Any more questions about Stovall's, feel free to ask...I've stayed there more times than I can count!

Thank you so much! I knew I could count on someone on here to "point me in the right direction!" I can't wait for our trip now!

Where exactly is the ART drop off? We are renting a house a few doors down from BW Stovals in June. This may be a good option for those that don't want to walk home...

When we stayed last June we walked it a couple times the route spacemermaid described. After a bit it was just too long and we ended up
taking ART. The busstop was smack in front of the motel. :goodvibes
I wouldn't walk it again I was just too pooped, but it's doable for sure.
We really liked the motel tho, it was nicely decorated large bathroom
smallish room we had doubles. And you
have a nice view of mickeys funwheel and ca screamin from that area.

We stayed there for our trip in Sept, and the walk was great - very pretty and much quieter than walking along Harbor. The last two nights (out of five) we got tired coming back, but we managed fine. We had our daughter in a too-small stroller which was part of the issue!

It's a great hotel, and if you get the right part of the hotel, you do get a lovely view.
