Best Western plus park place vs Park Vue?

Trying to decide between the 2. Opinions?

They’re pretty comparable. I thought park vue has free parking though if you need that.

I like PV slightly better only because I like where you eat your free breakfast better. It's not so much the food, it's the great view from atop the office into Disneyland.
So take your pick, we like them both!

We have only stayed at BWPPI and I agree with Indiana Scott that the breakfast area leaves something to be desired, it is crowded and upstairs and despite the food not being Captain Cook's menu, it has that proximity association with the place that I don't love. The pool is also small and in a shady alcove with room windows all around which isn't very scenic, either.

If the prices were comparable, the reviews I have read would definitely lead me to book at Park Vue. For a while, it was one of the most recommend places on this board.

We have only stayed at BWPPI also -- we are going back primarily because of the location and our BW rewards which gives us a great deal. I agree with what's been said - the pool is just ok and the breakfast is noisy and crowded with average food. But the rooms we have stayed in have been super nice and roomy and the location can't be beat. Last time we also got adjoining rooms with friends which was great. We even made use of the laundry room which was easy and convenient. All things considered, we'll keep going back.

We've stayed at both, and the pool at the Park Vue is much better -- more room around the pool and nicer landscaping. Otherwise, we found them very comparable.

Oh that's very true, the pool is much better at PVI and in the mid afternoon it always seems to be empty or nearly so.
The pool at BW is so small and busy that we've never been able to use it when we stayed there.

We have always stayed at BWPPI and find it fine for location, free breakfast, etc. I have always wanted to try Park Vue but for some reason it is always more expensive. If I could even get it to be the same price, I would try Park Vue.

I’ve only stayed at PVI and found it to be a simple, but clean motel with freshly updated and modern decor. Nothing fancy, but when I want to save money by not staying onsite, this is my go-to option. A big plus is that it’s a much closer walk than either the Disneyland or Paradise Pier Hotels. We actually will be staying here again in just a few weeks. One of these days, I’d like to try BWPPI, but I usually find they are already booked or their prices are slightly higher.

We didn't have a good experience with PVI. Our last morning at the motel didn't go well. My daughter was feeling sick to her stomach, and had a terrible headache. We figured she had picked up a bug in the parks, and we were glad it was time to leave. Two hours after we left, she was completely fine. At that point we realized that the heater had been turned on the evening before in the room, our first time using it. When it came on, a horrible smell accompanied it. It was quickly turned off. All we can figure is that she had an allergic reaction. An isolated incident for sure, but enough that we won't be returning.
Also, for some reason, PVI was much noisier in general.

We've stayed at BWPPI more than any other DL motel. While it definitely has it's minor issues, we've never regretted staying there.

Could have been mildew in the HVAC unit.
One time we stayed at the Ramada at the end of Harbor and it had a terrible odor. I told the office and they swapped out the whole unit while we were in the park.
Seems like most hotels don't clean those things unless someone complains.

We’ve stayed at PVI several times with no problems. I check BWPPI but it’s always more expensive (by $200-400 a night) and we usually rent a car and PVI has free parking. Eating outside with a view of SM and Matterhorn is nice and the outdoor pool is clean and never busy.

Do you just book PVI from their website? I can never seem to get it cheaper than BWPPI. I know they offer a returning guest discount, but I can't seem to get a cheaper rate for that first stay, which is why we always end up at BWPPI.

PVI is not on Expedia, so we alyas call them directly. They always give us a 10% discount for being a return guest.

Yes, direct from their website or calling. Even our first stay before the return discount was cheaper than BWPPI. Weird because a lot of people prefer BWPPI and I’d like to try it but doesn’t make sense to me to pay so much more. Same with candy Cane Inn, always more than PVI and walk is a lot further.

Have stayed at BWPPI. Handicap rooms are small compared to the other rooms at the hotel. The breakfast is simple and adequate, but for going to the park for a while, Denny's might be better. Wanting to try PVI, will do next time. The other thing is that BWPPI is right at the light to cross the street for the walkway to the parks.

Why is PPI a Good Neighbor and PVI not? At least it doesn't show up when you search on the DL site.

At any rate, I'm at PPI for my trip and it'll be fine for a couple of nights. I'm not super picky. And being gluten-free I tend to avoid breakfast anyway...either bring my own Luna bars or I can stock up the Starbucks card and get coffee and either egg bites or their gluten-free breakfast sandwich.

So PVI will give a AAA discount if you call? I may try that. We will have a car this time so the free parking also makes a difference.
