Best Western Movieland?

Anyone stayed here? How is it? The manager's special of $39 a night sounds pretty good, and it is near Universal, but is it one of those dodgy places?

The hotel went under complete rehab about 2 years ago. It was formerly the Las Palmas Hotel and is run by the people who own the Best Western Plaza Hotel down the street. Based on stories from people in the tourism industry, I would not stay at this hotel because of complaints of pests (bugs) and plumbing problems.
