Best Western Lakeside

Anyone ever stay here? What are your thoughts on this hotel? I am trying to plan a budget girls trip for the beginning of Nov. for my 2 daughters and I, this hotel popped up on expedia.com with a great rate and also 3 stars........trying to compare with staying on Disney, and this hotel is only 3 miles from disney........

I have stayed here twice, I thought it was a great hotel. The rooms were larger than the value resorts at disney, and were clean..there was a couch in the room as well. They have a breakfast buffet restaurant on site a walgreens and wendys next door...and literally right across the street there is a grocery and tons of restaurants like tgifridays, red lobster, etc... The drive to Disney is less than 10 minutes. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Agree totally with Jessrose...great location, basic but clean hotel...not sure what rate you got or age of daughters but 2 bedroom/2bath condos can be found on www.vrbo.com or www.vacationrentals.com for a good price. Probably around $50-65/night. Owners will deal with you and this would give you more space.
I do know my son stayed at BWLakeside on a www.Priceline.com. bid and thought it was great. Right now there are unbelivable deals on Priceline in the Disney area. Under $40/night for 3 star hotels!!! One star is under $20.00!!
If you check www.biddingfortravel.com you and scroll down to FLORIDA DISNEY WORLD AREA HOTELS you will see many many bargains in the area that are posted by those who got the bid. If you try Priceline I would suggest Disney World Vicinity only as option. This would put you very close to Disney either on the east or west end of the complex.
If budget is really important to you I would consider Priceline if BW Lakeside is significantly higher than $40 on Expedia...If not, I would jump on that price for the hotel you want.

You will have a great time...your daughters are lucky folks!!

Does this hotel charge the resort fee in addition to the price I found on expedia? I am considering priceline, but only for 3 star or higher hotels. We have used vrbo.com before and LOVED having a villa (stayed at Lindfields), never thought about it for just the three of us! Budget is priority, BUT do not want a horrible stay! Need to have a good budget to get the DH on board!!

Hi Amy,
not sure about the fee...I would call them directly and ask. I am guessing NO, as resort fees have always been a more high end hotel fee. There will be a 13-14% tax however and whatever fees expedia might charge.
Priceline does have a small fee associated with the booking as I recall.

Good Luck...if you are going during a non holiday time, I would not be afraid to send and email to a condo owner at Windsor Hills, Windsor Palms, Villas at Island Club, Emerald Island and tell them what you can pay and see what they say...I rented our 7 bedroom home at Emerald Island for $100/night for a week on short notice...It paid some of the bills and better than sitting empty...

they do charge a resort fee..when I booked through hotwire I later paid the hotel when I check out 3.50 a night a few years ago...later when I booked through a different website hotelmartusa the resort fee was included already i paid anywhere from 35-50 for a room depending on time of year..35 for january..50 for late april...if hotelmart has a great rate i have used them twice and they don't charge you in full and there is no cancellation penalty, i loved them

DD and I stayed at Best Western Lakeside for 10 nights in January for a "Girls Only" trip. I would compare it to a WDW Value resort. Multi-building campus, arranged around pools with a centrally located registration building. There is a restaurant, deli/grocery, and giftshop in the main building. There was a shuttle to the parks, but we drove. The drive to the parks was short- we went from our door to the MK lot in less than 15 minutes. AK was really close, by way of Sherboth Rd. Many restaurants, stores, and other amenities close by.

The rooms are good sized- basic, but clean and housekeeping was great. Comfy beds, and a fridge is included in each room, along with coffee maker and blow dryer.

We booked through Hotwire and paid $32/night plus $3.50/day resort fee. Grand total for 10 nights was right at $400. We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed there last year in May and thought it was fine. It was clean and served the purpose of sleeping and showering for us. We didn't have a couch in our room and the bathroom is really small but overall we would stay again. We are going back on Halloween but we are staying at Comfort Inn Lake Buena Vista because we got an even better deal, so hopefully that one will be nice too!
