Best Western Lake Buena Vista Advice

hi all, am going to WDW end dec beginning of jan - our first time! our honeymoon

just wondered if anyone has stayed at best western LBV and what they thought of it ... how close it is to DTD .... does it qualify for the EMH ... what floors/rooms are best to have?

Can't answer most of your question but I do know that the Hilton is the only Downtown Disney hotel that EMH applies to.

Best Western LBV is # 170 and the Hilton is#174

We have stayed there a couple times. Large rooms, nice balconies, good staff, ok pool. No ehm. Get a high floor with an Epcot views. resturant not great.

there is an extra charge - you can see the fireworks from the MK too - it is that high.

I think it is only $15 or $20 extra for each night.

the restuarant is only so-so.

breakfast is probably their best.

We LOVED the Best Western DTD!!! We stayed April of 2008, and had a wonderful stay. Everything was very clean, newly reburbished room! They leave Bath And Body Works Shampoo, Conditioner and Soap and Lotion in the room. We had the Vanilla scent and the Coconut Lime.....
Housekeeping was great and while in our room, could never hear noise from other rooms.
We had a rental car so I cannot comment on the shuttle service.
It has two gift shops which I thought were VERY overpriced. Priced higher than Disney prices. Like the T Shirts were $25 and at Disney you can buy one for $18.
I never ate at the restaurant there. We did order from Pizza Hut and was delivered to our room along with a salad platter that could have fed like 8 people!!! It was huge, well worth the $$$.
We had a great stay, I was worried after reading some of the tripadvisor.com opinions,

hey lovinpoohbear -- glad to know we've got a great hotel! we originally had booked into the comfort inn and had read some quite disturbing reports so were glad we managed to change to BW.

how far are you away from downtown disney and the crossroads?

any tips on BW or what's close by would be fantastic please

You are pretty close to both. I have a great story about this hotel, our first trip to WDW we stay here then it was a Travel Lodge. The 1st night I go out on the balcony Make a comment about great view even though I am scared to death of the height. Then from above a her someone say "boy I hear ya!" it was my neighbor from above we had a nice little chat, they were leaving in the A.M. but she gave us some great tips for our trip.

Why don't you email the hotel and mention you are so looking forward to your stay as it is your honeymoon and would like to make it special by having a view of fireworks. You never know they may give you a room without charging the extra.

I have stayed here twice once with Virgin and once with Priceline. Had fireworks view both times, paid for 1 but not the other. Didn't ask for it free but the receptionist said she would see what she could do. Helps if you are a couple as they can give you just a king size bed instead of a room with 2 beds. She asked if I could accept just a king size and then said free of charge but don't shout about it whilst in the hotel.

The king size beds with view are amazing and well worth the extra if you have to pay.
