Best Western/Fairfield/Quality Inn? So many choices!

We're going to DLR from Sept 13-17, and we're thinking about changing up our normal hotel. We typically do Anaheim Quality Inn and Suites because it's super cheap. However, we're tacking on another Disney day this year (we typically do just 2, now we're doing 3) and are looking for something closer, but we're still unsure if we want to switch hotels. We've made ressies at Best Western Anaheim Inn ($374 total), Fairfield Inn ($345 total), Anaheim Quality ($317 total), and Best Western Park Place ($467 total).

Ranked by closest to furthest from Disney: BWPPI, FFI, BWAI, AQI

Ranked by cheapest to most expensive: AQI, FFI, BWAI, BWPPI

What are your comments and experiences at these hotels? Which one would you pick? Thanks for all of your help!!

I would take the FFI. It's not closer than BWPPI but if less a good choice.

However during your visit the Best Western will have their pool closed. Maybe you could get an even better rate because of that.

Thanks for the tip. I'll definitely look into the discount for the pool thing, but I didn't know if you meant PPI or AI. Which one?

Anyone else have any comments?

I also was wondering how to make this trip more magical. My boyfriend is graduating from college, and I may not get to see him for a couple of months as he'll be doing some travelling. I'm sure there's a thread for extra ways to increase the magic, but it was just something in my head right now.

Sorry the BWAI is closing the pool. Make a seperate thread for your other question and you are likely to get more responses.

Just got back from a stay at FFI and it was a great hotel. Easy walking distance and very clean!! IF you wanna do something special at that hotel you do have the option of ordering a gift amenity to be delivered to the room. You have to book through Marriott though to do this. You just tell them what the occasion is and someone will email you to find out his likes. I ordered one for my daughter and they did a great job. She received a gift bag and pink mickey bouquet of balloons. In the bag was Pink Princess Mickey ears, Princess candy hearts ( the kind they sell in the parks) and a postcard from DLR!!The price was only $15!!

Definitely Fairfield Inn for those prices. Normally if BWPPI was the same price or less, I'd say to go there for the closeness factor, but for a difference of over $100. Fairfield is the nicest of the lot. :thumbsup2

Thanks for all of the feedback! Seems like the general consensus is FFI, tried calling BWAI, no extra discount for pool closure. Lame. I think BWAI is closer than FFI too.

*sigh* DBF decided on BWAI without waiting for the results of this thread. Can anyone vouch for BWAI so I don't feel like I'm missing out on a better hotel?

We have stayed at the Fairfield Inn three different times and it has been great. Nice and clean location is pretty close, just a few hotels over from the entrance and there is a McDonalds in the parking lot. There is also a Mimi's cafe very close. Couple of parking lots over I believe. We will be staying there for the fourth time next week. HTH;)

I'm trying to decide between FFI and the BWAI also. FFI charges for parking, but not the Anaheim Inn...
I love Mimi's, but not a fan of Millie's. Both are close, and also McDonalds..... great location, but BWAI is closer......

Where are you seeing that rate for FFI?

Also, anyone know how much FFI charges for parking?

Lastminutetravel.com is where I got the rate for FFI. I'm still trying to convince DBF that we should stay there instead of BWAI. Unfortunately, the cost of parking is what causes BWAI to be a tiny bit cheaper.

Parking is $9 per night. I'm trying to get it waived because otherwise we'll end up staying at BWAI. Has anyone been successful in getting it waived?

Hmm. . .can't seem to get FFI to show up on Last Minute Travel site. Odd.

The FFI charges $9 a day for parking. I loved staying there and plan on staying there again next time! Nice, clean and close. I also loved the big jugs with spouts to pour ice water with lemons they have in the lobby to help yourself! LOL. :goodvibes

My daughter stayed at Fairfile last year and it was just great. Super close to the gates, no issues at all.

We did a last minute trip at Christmas and booked the Annabella with a AAA discount for $85/night. It was also just great. Super close.

It doesn't officially show up, but a neat trick I learned for Last Minute Travel: for the hotels you can't see the name of, if you click to start the booking process and then look at the URL, you'll see a long URL with somewhere in it "hotelId=______" where the blank space will be a unique number. For example, when I search the dates I'm planning for (Sept 13th through 17th) in the Disneyland/Anaheim area, I see an unnamed 3-star rated hotel for $72 per night. I click book it, and it brings me to a page where I can add a car or DL tickets and dining or just continue my booking. The URL for that page is this:

http://www.lastminutetravel.com/PageCrossSell.aspx?hotelId=1202425&SelectedProductID=1202425%3b1628715%3b992902&provider=localTgsProvider&searchgroup=2&isForAmend=False&_dc=1312871753445&isAvailable=true&id=0

Take the hotel ID number, and paste it into the blank space in this URL:

http://www.touricoholidays.com/en/PageHotelDetail.aspx?hotelId=_____&provider=localTgsProvider

And voila! Tourico Holidays tells you what hotel it is :) :

http://www.touricoholidays.com/en/PageHotelDetail.aspx?hotelId=1202425&provider=localTgsProvider

So that's how I can for sure know I'm booking FFI through Last Minute Travel at such a low rate.

Still deciding...

When they 1st started charging for parking we had to option of parking in their offsite lot for free. It was fairly close and they had a shuttle to it.

We havn't driven since then so I don't know if they still have it.

Andy

Thanks for the tip - worked perfectly.

We were booked at the Quality Inn and Suites, but it looks like we could upgrade to the Fairfield for around $50 more for the 4 days - not too bad. The parking thing really is the killer though. $9/day is pretty steep.

Yeah, that's what's making us iffy on deciding where to stay. We've stayed at Quality for so long, but their prices aren't what they used to be and for the distance, it's not really as worth it. I'm glad I could help out!

Does anyone have any reviews of BWAI, or is it general consensus that FFI is the way to go? xD
