Disclaimer: We only spent 12 hours here after adding on a day to our trip and moving to this hotel. I tried to check things out while I was there for those who were wondering.

Proximity to the park: Short walk. (5 minutes?) There is another Best Western closer to the main entrance and and a few others, but this hotel is close. It's a shorter walk than staying at Paradise Pier or Disneyland Hotel I'm thinking.

Check in went smoothly. Check out took a bit longer, but it was 4am and the clerk wasn't there. In a couple of minutes he came back...with a bag from Denny's! LOL Must not have alot of middle of the night action. Hotel is 3 stories high with rooms opening up to the outside. (No enclosed hallways) The hotel is located on a narrow, deep lot. Not alot of parking. There is an elevator. Vending machine close to the lobby. I think everything was 80 cents. Pop machines and ice machines available also. Not sure on pop pricing.

Our room was 116 which was a handicap room. We were just a few doors down from the pool. The room was clean. The refrigerator is located in the armoire the TV is on. There are a few drawers in that armoise also. Small table with 2 chairs beside that. In the bathroom area there was another armoise with a bar to hang clothes on, a place to sit your suitcase, and an iron. The ironing board was sitting beside the armoire. The vanity area is a little cramped. Single sink and the microwave and coffee maker are in the corner of the vanity. The armoire is close to this, so it's a little cramped, but workable. The AC is a wall unit and is positioned above the microwave. Bathroom was good sized, but it might be larger than some rooms since this was a handicap room. Water pressure in the shower was great. Toilet was a little wimpy. (For those who like that kind of info. LOL!) The area under the vanity was open, so that allows for quite a bit of storage if needed.

Internet access: There's a log in and password located in the back of the guest services handbook. Wi-fi worked fine.

Pool: Not a huge one, but there's a pool and hot tub. I think there is a sauna just off the pool, and restrooms right there also. (Trying to remember the map in the guest handbook) There are tables and chairs around the pool. There were people in the pool when we left to go back to the parks, but we could not hear pool noise at our room.

The only thing I saw that made me go ?? was there was a gap around the door leading outside towards the bottom. I wasn't worried about safety, I was worried about bugs! What kind of bugs could crawl through that?? But, I didn't see any creepy crawlies running around my room, so they must have sensed my disdain of bugs!

Heard some people talking as they walked back to their room at night, but it was only one time. Between the AC going and my sound machine, I slept like a log. Beds are comfortable and I liked the pillows better than the GC. :scared1: Pillows at GC were firm and plump. I have neck issues, so I like a pillow that isn't as plump. BW pillows were plump, but they weren't as firm. Liked them! Exhaust fan in the bathroom didn't work (but neither did the one in the GC) There's a small window above the tub that can be opened if needed.

Cold Stone creamery is conveniently located on the walk back from the parks! Tony Roma's is close by. There's also a Captain Kidd's buffet and IHOP on the way to the park. (I think that's the name of it!) We walked to Garden Walk for dinner. That's a bit of a walk, but doable, and a nice walk. There are a few pizza/sandwich shops located not far from the hotel in a little strip mall type of thing on the corner heading towards Garden Walk.

Would I stay here again? Yes. If I thought I was going to be in the pool alot, or you have kids that want a slide, I'd look for somewhere else. (I don't remember there being a slide, but I'll find out for sure once I post pics) Not a bad place at all and the price is great!

Pics are coming...but a bit later. Getting back into "Home" mode. :(

I'm just about to book this hotel for our 2 night stay in October. Your review was helpful. My only question is about breakfast. Do they have a continental breakfast and if so, how was it? Thanks,

No continental breakfast, although the BW closer to the main gates has one. I'll have pics up in a few. I'm still trying to figure out how I posed a pic from FAcebook on here the other night!

This is the gap around the door.

Sorry about the clutter. We literally came in, dropped stuff off and headed back out. The pool pics and other dark one were taken at 4am on our way out. The one outside is looking from our room down towards the office.

Seems O.K.,nothing special. Just a hotel room. Of course if you are doing Disney all day that is all you need.

Thanks for the review and pics! We are staying there in a suite for one night at the end of the month. I'll add our comments about the suite after our stay :)

Well - update! I guess we won't be staying there after all :) My wait list for DVC just came thru today - so we're spending that night at the Grand Villas instead - way too excited to work now! :cheer2:

I stayed there last month... it worked well for a comfortable, clean place to sleep that was near the park. We didn't notice a lot of noise and were more or less satisfied with it. A word of caution though:

AVOID CAPTAIN KIDD'S LIKE THE PLAGUE UNLESS YOU WANT FOOD POISONING.

The Denny's next door to the hotel is a much better choice.

Also avoid the IHOP right across from the park, they think they are serving golden eggs, they have to be the most expensive breakfast there were 4 of us(2 of which were my kids eating 13 and 14) with standard breakfast fare and our bill was well over $100 for that we can get characters and all we can eat at Goofy's and the food is way better, and service was the worst, crabby servers!!! I was shocked and asked them to retotal my bill several times. Needless to say we hit the Denny's nearby with a normal price on par with others around country and service was way better!!!! Capt Kidds has to be the most inedible food I have ever seen, disgusting just downright disgusting no need to say more!!!
