Disclaimer: We only spent 12 hours here after adding on a day to our trip and moving to this hotel. I tried to check things out while I was there for those who were wondering.
Proximity to the park: Short walk. (5 minutes?) There is another Best Western closer to the main entrance and and a few others, but this hotel is close. It's a shorter walk than staying at Paradise Pier or Disneyland Hotel I'm thinking.
Check in went smoothly. Check out took a bit longer, but it was 4am and the clerk wasn't there. In a couple of minutes he came back...with a bag from Denny's! LOL Must not have alot of middle of the night action. Hotel is 3 stories high with rooms opening up to the outside. (No enclosed hallways) The hotel is located on a narrow, deep lot. Not alot of parking. There is an elevator. Vending machine close to the lobby. I think everything was 80 cents. Pop machines and ice machines available also. Not sure on pop pricing.
Our room was 116 which was a handicap room. We were just a few doors down from the pool. The room was clean. The refrigerator is located in the armoire the TV is on. There are a few drawers in that armoise also. Small table with 2 chairs beside that. In the bathroom area there was another armoise with a bar to hang clothes on, a place to sit your suitcase, and an iron. The ironing board was sitting beside the armoire. The vanity area is a little cramped. Single sink and the microwave and coffee maker are in the corner of the vanity. The armoire is close to this, so it's a little cramped, but workable. The AC is a wall unit and is positioned above the microwave. Bathroom was good sized, but it might be larger than some rooms since this was a handicap room. Water pressure in the shower was great. Toilet was a little wimpy. (For those who like that kind of info. LOL!) The area under the vanity was open, so that allows for quite a bit of storage if needed.
Internet access: There's a log in and password located in the back of the guest services handbook. Wi-fi worked fine.
Pool: Not a huge one, but there's a pool and hot tub. I think there is a sauna just off the pool, and restrooms right there also. (Trying to remember the map in the guest handbook) There are tables and chairs around the pool. There were people in the pool when we left to go back to the parks, but we could not hear pool noise at our room.
The only thing I saw that made me go ?? was there was a gap around the door leading outside towards the bottom. I wasn't worried about safety, I was worried about bugs! What kind of bugs could crawl through that?? But, I didn't see any creepy crawlies running around my room, so they must have sensed my disdain of bugs!
Heard some people talking as they walked back to their room at night, but it was only one time. Between the AC going and my sound machine, I slept like a log. Beds are comfortable and I liked the pillows better than the GC.
Pillows at GC were firm and plump. I have neck issues, so I like a pillow that isn't as plump. BW pillows were plump, but they weren't as firm. Liked them! Exhaust fan in the bathroom didn't work (but neither did the one in the GC) There's a small window above the tub that can be opened if needed.
Cold Stone creamery is conveniently located on the walk back from the parks! Tony Roma's is close by. There's also a Captain Kidd's buffet and IHOP on the way to the park. (I think that's the name of it!) We walked to Garden Walk for dinner. That's a bit of a walk, but doable, and a nice walk. There are a few pizza/sandwich shops located not far from the hotel in a little strip mall type of thing on the corner heading towards Garden Walk.
Would I stay here again? Yes. If I thought I was going to be in the pool alot, or you have kids that want a slide, I'd look for somewhere else. (I don't remember there being a slide, but I'll find out for sure once I post pics) Not a bad place at all and the price is great!
Pics are coming...but a bit later. Getting back into "Home" mode.
