I asked my only child, who is graduating from high school in June, where she wanted to go on her last "childhood family vacation," and of course she said "Disneyland" We've always gone in June before, which has been generally a pleasant time to go, but this year my DD starts an uninterruptible summer internship right after graduation, and only has two weeks off (the first two weeks of August) before she has to report for college freshman orientation. We are planning to fly into SNA on either Monday, August 4 or Monday, August 11, stay Mon, Tues, and Wed nights at GCH, stay in the parks as long as we want on Thurs, and catch a cab over to the Huntington Beach Hilton for Thurs, Fri, and Sat nights, flying out Sunday afternoon.

My question: is there any advantage of one of those two weeks (first or second week of August) over crowds and or/weather? We know it will be hot and crowded, and will be utilizing FP and MM, etc. Given MY choice, we would go to San Francisco or Alaska, but I am not choosing this year!!!! Thanks!

We usually do the 3rd week. I can not see where there would be any difference. Warm and busy.

Have fun,

Jack

Thanks, Jack. Are you talking about Disneyland, or Columbia Park on boat race weekend? :)

Columbia Cup, Hot and busy, but if you like Hydroplanes you can not beat it.
I am usually out of the country when that happens or at least on my way back.
DLR the last 3 Augusts have been very warm, at least two days over 95+ according to the truck thermometer. Where are you located?

From my house in Kennewick, I can spit across the Richland City limit. :)
