Is there a website that lists the attractions for each of the parks, height requirements and pictures of the rides. i have two travel guides but they don't have a lot of pictures. I would like to be able to go through the rides so the kids can pick out wtheir favorites prior to going to the park(as a previous poste suggested to me)

I'd suggest you go to the library and borrow the Birnbaum's for Kids. It's an awesome resource for kids to look at. Photos of many of the rides. It has kid friendly descriptions of the rides and kid friendly layout. There were very little changes between 2007, 2008 and 2009 so it doesn't matter if it's a little out of date. I have the 2009 book and it doesn't have photos of the newer attractions anyway (i.e. Toy Story Mania) - just descriptions and no mention of Kim Possible or American Idol. Seriously, if I hadn't had a borders gift certificate I wouldn't have bought it - the older versions did what I needed.

The other resource that I found wonderful for giving the kids an idea of the attractions was the WDW planning DVD (the free one you get in the mail). The kids loved looking at it and seeing the rides in action - this is were DS#2 fell in love with the tomorrowland speedway.

Also if Comcast HD cable go to chanel 892 - Disney has park info on demand.

The best list of height restrictions that I found was in the UG. All on one page.

My favorite website to look at photos is suite disney dot com . It says on the home page that it has over 10,000 photos and I believe it! It doesn't just have pictures of the rides, but the restaurants and hotels as well. I love it because if I like to look at pics of the restaurants before I book ADRs.

I was thinking someone should come out with a nice simple spreadsheet for parents. List of rides by park (sorted by proximity to one another of course), height requirement, a column for dark Y/N, will you get wet Y/N, any scares Y/N, and how many people can fit across in one row and max allowed per car.

As a family of 5, I would love to be able to plan seating on some rides ahead of time or even decide if we should be attempting the rides as a group.

This may be a project to tackle before our trip in 02/10.

I'm with your dizneechick. Maybe I'm just a little to precise when it comes to organizing trips, but I like to go in with a plan, knowing in advance what the four children (11, 9, 5 and 4) want to go and want to avoid (reading the info to them or trying to cross reference rides to pictures is a little difficult for the 3 year old to understand).

A spreadsheet would let me cross off any rides / attractions that I know for sure wouldn't suit our family.

Check allears.net. I don't think their pics are too impressive, but the site has great summaries of the rides. The Unofficial Guide offers quick write-ups, including height restrictions and FastPass availability. If you really want your kids to make educated choices, go to YouTube and watch some videos. My dd4 LOVES the videos of the Tiki Room, and she even informed us that Pirates "isn't too scary for me" - we'll decide when we get there! Many YouTube videos include coverage of the queue areas and the pre-ride/show "extras". The planning DVD is cute, but it's very fast-paced and it doesn't really show the "right" stuff, imho (it does, however, bring me to tears each time we watch it!). You may also want to look for a Disneyland Sing-a-long video. The one we got from Netflix was exactly what I was looking for, despite the fact that the video is 20 years old. It only shows Magic Kingdom (and the CA one, not the FL one), but the rides are very similar, and you get a great sense of what it's like just walking through the park past the people, shops, rides, and vendors. Have fun planning with your kids!
