I have always gone the week before Thanksgiving and had nice weather and no crowds at all. This September I will start as a school teacher and be at the mercy of school vacations. I want to go one last time between now and then to avoid crowds (I have a 4yo and 2yo), swimming weather would be nice but not mandatory. When is the slowest time to go before September?
Thanks!

Welcome to the DIS. If you could go last minute the first 10 days of February are incredible. Great weather (not too hot-- really not hot at all) and very, very quiet. Possibly near the end of April of mid may. Early May is usually quiet however, I think the May 5th celebration kick-off is going to bring in a decent crowd level.

If your school has fall break, that is my favorite time to go. We are considering Spring Break this year, but it will probably be pretty busy. We tried summer, and it was too hot and crowded for me. We have been at Christmas and on Fall Break, and I LOVE going in Oct. on my fall break. The Halloween party is a must and the food and wine festival is nice. Not too busy, not too hot....I love going in Oct.!

I feel your pain. I am a teacher and unfortunately the only time I can go is in the summer. We usually like to go for more than a week and that only leaves the summer.

Last summer we went the second week in July. Yes it was hot and crowded, but I did my research and went with a plan (Tour Guide Mike's plan to be exact), and we had a wonderful time. We were in the parks first thing in the morning, taking a break by noon and back to the parks in the evenings. We never waited any longer than 20 minutes for rides. This year we are going the first two weeks in August.

Going during the summer for us has it's advantages: 1) I don't have to worry about taking the kids out of school 2) we can usually stay for at least two weeks 3) We take a much more relaxed pace when touring the parks and 4) Finally, I don't have to rush back to work when we return, I can take a vacation after my vacation :D

Welcome to teaching and summers at Disney. My DH teaches and I sub. I agree that if you could pull something together last minute by early Feb.-go. I looked for airfare for my mom and found some good last minute deals. We will be going in August this year. 2nd week to be exact. Hoping for the best.
