It was so hot when we were there this summer that Smartwater was definitely the best use of a snack credit!! We probably used 75% of our snacks on water and never regretted it at all.
Our family tradition is to make a last stop at Goofey's Candy Shop in DTD before heading home. If there are any unused snack credits we use them on take home snacks for the trip and whatever's left we give to friends and family as gifts.
It's' also great to splurge at least ONE time on the trip for something we would never buy OOP on our own. this DDP is the best... expecially when it's free!
I always get the bang for my buck when I buy what I want. Whether that is a dole whip or a bottle of water.
To me it isn't the price on the item, but the value in which it is to me.
the huge ice-cream sundaes in MK - Mrs Pott's Cupboard? I think, the fudge brownie and strawberry shortcake are too big for one.
Pineapple dole whips - yum
Chocolate creme brulee from France at F&W
5 Zebra domes from mara at AKL
Any resort shop the $3.95 rice crispie treats - we got both halloween and Xmas ones this trip. Lasted us the first two weeks of packed lunches when we returned.
DD is also a Princess Pez collector and loves to bring some home each trip.
The best way to use a snack credit is to get what you want, when you want it. Trying to simply "maximize" your credit use may simple wind up with you getting something you don't really want, just because it's a good "deal".
If I want to use a credit on a drink, pretzel, ice cream bar, or box of popcorn because that's what I want at that moment, then I'm not going to feel bad about not getting great "value" for the credit.
I completely agree. Even doing this we still have a few snack credits left over. We use them on snack mixes and such but I can get those for a buck without Chip and Dale on it at the grocery store. Best to just use them when you want too. I rarely hear people running out early and having to pay OOP most often it's the other way around. I think it's good to plan a few treats that you really want to try though. We LOVE the cream cheese pretzels everyone else seems to hate and we love icees. Those are always on our list. I hate mickey bars though, yikes right?
I do always order a case of water though. I drink a ton of water and must have it on me at all times. Having a case in the room makes it super convient for me and only cost me $7 total.
