As I plan this trip things activities have been added/ taken off the itinerary.
so far I have: 3 day hopper passes with MHP for Sept 26
family of four 2 yr old takes naps, 3 year old does not.

Sept 23 arrive, maybe half day at a park
Sept 24 Start day RD at Disneyland, late character breakfast, dinner at Cafe Orleans
Sept 25 Start day RD at DCA, WOC, lunch or dinner at Carthay Circle
Sept 26 MHP(thinking maybe a beach during the morning for a few hrs, or hotel pool)
Sept 27 leave for San Diego (maybe beach)
Sept 28 Legoland
Sept 29 beach day or half day at a park Dont know
Sept 30 Leave for home
Trying to get my DH to stay in Anaheim area since we are no longer going to San Diego zoo, but he loves San Diego
Trying to figure out how to best use the three day hoppers

Given that you've blocked out full days at a specific park, you might not need the park hoppers.

Otherwise, I think your planned schedule looks okay. You're going to the park that does not have EMH/MM (unless you are staying at the on-site hotels, then you might want to flip the days and take advantage of EMH). It'll two very full days, but that might not be too bad. I do think you'll be spending a fair amount of time eating on the DL day (character breakfast and Cafe Orleans are both sit down meals, so I'm guessing you'll be spending around three hours dealing with meals).

I did not consider the time we would be using for meals. I might break those up and do one TS meal a day the rest CS.

You have two full days and 2 half days, you will need 4 day passes if this is what you are planning.

I read the plan to mean they were going for two full days, one half day (arrival), and MHP. MHP is a separate ticket event, so you cannot use a regular park ticket to attend the party. For this scenario, they would need a three day ticket, plus the MHP ticket.
