best way to tour AK

Give me some advise on the best way to tour AK, where to go first, from there where to. Can you do it all in a day park hours are 9-5 when I will be there, so arrive before opening, want to see parade at 4 (is it worth it?) Probably wont do EE daughter is 9 would she like it. No scared of roller coasters but is it in the dark at all?

I would go to the safari first. We did that first and had no wait at all. Then I would fast pass Expedition Everest. And dont miss out on the Dinasour ride. We LOVED it!

Part of EE is in the dark so if there is any chance at all that your DD would get scared I would skip it. We were there on June 23 and arrived 30 minutes before opening. We saw/did everything except It's Tough To Be A Bug! because DD6 was scared of it, Dinosaur because DS8 got the bejeebers scared out of him on EE and we didn't get to see the Wonders of Flight show because we were picked to be in the afternoon parade and had to arrive for it early and so then we lost that time. We left the park at 0530pm.

If your DD is afraid of the dark I would start at Kilimanjaro Safari's in Africa and then work your way clockwise around the park. You might need a fast pass for Kali River Rapids and come back for it later if you don't want to walk around wet all day. We saved it for last.

If there is any chance at all the your DD will be scared on EE I would skip it. If she decides she wants to try it I would start there and then work your way counter clockwise toward Africa and finish up at Dinoland.

We had a leisurely lunch at Tusker House and didn't feel rushed in the least. We would have liked to have spent more time at Conservation Station but had a FP for Kilimanjaro Safari's to get back to. If you skip the dark attractions like EE, Dinosaur, and Its Tough To Be a Bug you can easily tour the park in one day. As for the parade, we didn't get to see it the first trip we went and like I said earlier we didn't see it this past trip because we were in it.

I would do EE or Kilamanjaro Safari first. Then, go to Dinosaur, Tough to be a Bug, Kali River Ride in between the Festival of the Lion King and Nemo. Don't forget to go in the shops. They have great stuff there.

how did you get picked to be in the parade? luck? Probably will skip EE cause she will be scared if it is dark, is dinosaur scary too? I have heard a bugs life is pretty intense as well. Which characters are at camp minnie-Mickey?

Dinsoaur is much scarier and darker than EE. EE is dark for a short amount of time while you are going backwards. As an adult Dinosaur scares me somewhat and is definately jerky. My DH can't ride things like that so I only go if I am with someone who really wants to go and I shut my eyes through a bit of it especially if I end up on the outside.
